This pony (or will she be a horse?) is a bit different to say the least. Purchased from a shetland breeder as a standard shetland foal, it quickly became apparent that she was not a pure shetland.
This was confirmed by a dna test.
Long story short - the filly's dam is a 39" standard registered shetland.
The sire is a 16.2 Clydesdale x Irish Draft!
Many years ago, I knew a lady with a Shetland x hunter, the hunter being a solid 16.3 of Irish draft type.Trying to imagine how this is physically possible

God that's a terrifying combination. Are you sure the pony didn't take over the world?And I thought that the pony I owned some years ago had odd parents with a Shetland mum and a Welsh Section D father. He was built like a small tank.

He was a right little s*d! Gave my daughter a good seat though as he was great at dropping a shoulder after a fence - once he dumped her 5 times in one lesson. Was too clever for his own good!

Well at least she didn’t state that she can trot, canter & gallop like most of the young girls I see wanting a loan (last thing I’d want is a loaner who gallops everywhere!)

God I wish I lived near you, I'd bite someone's hand off to share a safe, fun hack!And I can;t find a hacking sharer for Lottie who is a frankly AWESOME hacking horse. She will nanny you round the roads in walk, or gallop enthusiastically all day long, never bats an eyelid at anything, and is huge fun to ride, while being safe, sane and straightfoward. Maybe I should claim she has kissing spines and a rearing habit! Might have more luck.
Saw the post and someone had commented as much. Now I can’t find the post anywhere so I presume it’s been taken down because of “haters” and “fat shamers”.On local horsey FB page, an ad looking for a part loaner.
Potentially looking for a part loaner for 6 Yr old Irish x mare. I don't manage to ride her enough must be very experienced as she is spooky and still young at 6yrs she will not hack on her own or go round the farm ride on her own yet need someone that can ride weekdays may be 2 days a week and is willing to take it very slow at the moment.
So far so good, then a picture of the horse, who looks like a nice middleweight sort, being ridden by an enormously overweight rider
Poor ruddy horse, no wonder she is showing issues under saddle. Some sop needed to try iron out the ridden issues so that the overweight owner can continue riding her. There is no saddle that would fit that backside.
Why do people have to be such a buzzkill i don't use Facebook anymore but i don't understand why have to to be such a bunch of keyboard warriors and darn right rude about someone pride and joy when it ain't even go to do with them in the first place i hope that person sticks around just keeps in touch with the nice people but stays out the way the nasty people that she had to deal with what ever happened to being nice and respect people feelings for crud sake
Well, if someone is having a negative impact on their horse's welfare they need to be told, frankly;the animals can't advocate for themselves. But, it's not useful if it's done in such an aggressive way as to make people get defensive or just delete their posts entirely/shut off commenting. On the one hand, people absolutely need to be respectful and informative with giving advice rather than just going on the attack (although it's understandable when you see an animal suffering); on the other hand, we all need to be open to learning and constructive criticism, too, even if it's hard to hear when it is, as you say, someone's pride and joy.
