Hi everyone,

Currently when I compete (local level SJ & Dressage) I use the cheap electric show numbers that attach to my horses bridle. It’s got to the point I can’t do another show day pinging myself with the elastic and breaking the little metal bit off the end 😂

I was ideally looking to use numbers on my saddle pad as I feel this would be nicer for my horse. I have an Equitex though and don’t fancy using something that will make a hole. Is there an alternative?

If not what bridle numbers do people recommend?

Thanks so much everyone!

About the only piece of Le Mieux I own but I have one of their smart number holders which clips into the brow band but also has a Velcro wrap round bit that goes round the cheek piece. I then have a pretty basic number holder which safety pin onto the saddle cloth.

Thank you! Do you find the pin leaves a mark on your saddle pad?

Test the equitex with Velcro and see if it will stick to it. If it does just glue Velcro on back of some numbers and voila.

Alternatively sew a tiny bit of material to equitex and use that to pin numbers onto. Probably could get away with 3/4 tiny stitches each side of the material. If a better solution comes up you can just unpick material.

Sorry I’m not super smart. How do you attach the Velcro to the pad?

If you already have number holders, and don't want to pierce the saddlepad, just use a binder clip and clip the number holder to the bottom corner of the saddle pad. It will stay in place and nice and neat.
