We watched last night on channel 4 at 8pm but there didn't seem to be much..... doggy coverage?! About 2 minutes of agility and then fired through the gundog group judging 40 minutes later. Is there any better coverage than this?

I thought the Lagotto was lovely. The setters were all beautiful too, as was the Spanish water dog. The Labrador, Sussex spaniel and clumber spaniel were all obese. They barely looked fit enough to waddle around that ring, never mind actually do a job. I can't believe both the BOB judge and the group judge liked that lab.

TV coverage is definitely not great (though it is the only scenario where I can abide Clare Balding) but was having trouble getting YouTube on my TV yesterday 😭 I watch most years and don't think it's always been this bad though? (or maybe I'm more discerning since I started frequenting this board and learning more about dogs).

I was/will force OH to watch with me-yesterday his contribution, when the commentator described the Irish Water Spaniel as the clown of the spaniel family was 'that's some achievement when your whole family is a circus.'

I’m watching the agility live on You Tube at the moment, but regards tellycoverage it appears Crufts has gone down the same route as all the other things I used to watch avidly on terrestrial ie Badminton, Burghley, Gatcombe, show jumping 🙁

Great to see a lovely WL GSD as a lead dog in one of the flyball team yesterday. How do I find the inter-regional obedience on YouTube? I have a friend competing with her GSD 😊

Not sure I can explain quite how amazing yesterday was.....!! Archer smashed it in the main ring coming second in the Gamekeeper's final.

Oh and the BOB Goldie is from Ireland and belongs to a good friend, Cillian picks up on a large commercial shoot and has passed his FT qualifier (quiet and steady in line during a drive/walk up, marked retrieve on cold game, blind retrieve on cold game and water retrieve on cold game). He also won the CC from the special working gundog class.

The snow more or less subsided after I posted this - did manage to get over for a few hours. Wasn’t impressed with the judging in either of my breeds and didn’t stay for the duration, will be interested to see what the BOB’s were.

wow amazing! I liked the goldie that came second in the dog basc class for working gundogs, it was nice to see the judge place the working types above the show types in that class

Didn't see it but the working dogs were judged by Annie Jones and I thought her judging was fabulous.

I am not impressed this year, they are rushing through the judging and you hardly get a moment to have a good look at them moving before they switch to the next one,
