Can anyone recommend any? Just got dreadful earache riding out in the wind and need to invest in some ear warmers pronto! Are there any that are designed for wearing under/around a riding hat?

Not sure about earwarmers but I have a Buff (one that is half fleece and half material) so when it is really cold I can put the thinner section up onto my head and also pull it up over my nose so just my eyes are peeking out. Hat fits on top too so not a problem. Hope you get sorted as earache is awful.

I have a pair of earwarmers which attach to the harness of the hat with velcro so no need to try and fit a band under your hat.
I got them off ebay last year - will see if I can find them to show you :)

Thanks for your replies, I like the sound of these, would be interested to know the make or see a pic. Will also look up the Buff.

The racing websites like gibsons from newmarket sell them. I got a set from a big tack shop near me just waiting for christmas now :D.

I cheat and just use a scarf :)
Place the centre of the scarf on the top of your head, put your hat on, and cross the ends under your chin then over your shoulders! Warm ears and neck!

I have one too - great to keep the chill off your ears and chin. The only thing that fits under a snug fitting hat.

Oooh, I'm loving the look of all these toasty ear warmers! Now I just have to decide which to go for. The ones that fit on your hat straps look great, but the buff has the added advantage of keeping your neck and face warm. Hmm, dilemma! Just had a look on the buff website and there are so many different types. Are yours the slim fit ones? Don't want to choose one that's too chunky to go under my hat!

Mine is slim fit and not actually a Buff - I think it's a cycling brand called Oxford (cheaper than the Buff)

Have a look in some cycling shops.

Didn't realise they made so many - mine is the Polar Buff half fleecy and half material. Amazon sell them as do camping/walking/skiing type shops. Have also seen them in TK Maxx in the skiing section.

I wear a silk balaclava made to go under a motorcycle helmet, it looks rubbish but keeps me warm. Or, what's wrong with a nice silk scarf tied under the chin just like our dear Majesty? Only she doesn't wear a riding helmet on top of course.

Sleek horsewear do really funky fleecy ones, they are on FB if you want to look. They have loads of different designs including sheep :D
