Well both girls have finally landed!!

Had to abort the Millie pick up on Saturday, the situation was not set up to succeed so we made a Plan B and she arrived this morning safe & happy.

Turnip also wasn’t massively compliant!! What is it with yearlings - too big to manhandle, too young to really reason with!! Anyway we got there in the end and she arrived Saturday evening.

Both utterly sweet and friendly, a lovely pair, I’m very lucky. Millie is going to be big, despite Zidante only being 15.3/16hh. Turnip is more petite and lighter built, I’m guessing she will finish 16.1ish.

There will now be a couple of years of radio silence while they eat grass and I pat my ponies ?

The Bloomfields box I specially rented wasn’t good enough for Millie she said ? Millie said her daddy was a racehorse so she wanted her own personal racehorse men to come and get her, thank you very much ?

They are out on rented land with some other broodies/youngstock for now. A friend generously said they could join her gang which is great because her land drains well so they should be able to stay out 24/7/365.

Ah no, radio silence won't do! We need regular photos of the lovely girls ?

I’m sure I can oblige with pony patting updates!!

I was very very lucky to get the opportunity to buy Millie, she is the type you can’t really get on the open market, but I saw her the day after she was born and have been biding my time to try and buy her. I actually didn’t think it was going to happen hence going on a shopping trip.

Not that Turnip isn't lovely of course :)
I've only just realised that Turnip is a girl....no longer do keen of the name...it's not very ladylike ???

Pony patting updates may get a bit dull and repetitive, but pony patting photo with a nice sunset this evening.

One of the foals is besotted with Turnip to the point he is trying to suckle off her #confused.com

Nope, not even remotely tired of pony patting updates. They are gorgeous! So sweet that they get along so nicely.

If Turnip if going to be "Neep", does that mean you'll have to call Millie "Tattie"? You'll then have to buy a third and call it Haggis!

He he! But I’ve been naughty buying 2 - I DEFINITELY do not need a 3rd ?

I’ve known Millie since the day she was born so although I’m a bit ? ‘another brown mare called Millie’, Millie she is!
