The best thing about those photos is your smile!! You look like you absolutely love riding him. He looks great too, he's really grown up.

He is amazing, I am so lucky. I missed loads of great photos, many of them to do with deepening our relationship, but a representative sample...

Oh, and a little ride out, on our own. He did squeak a bit as we left his new mates, but was a good boy, hacking over the hedge from a busy A road and surveying the XC course from a distance (it is top right of the photo).

Oh, and this one!

So handsome with it!

RF - how exciting. Good luck!
Rara that is amazing. And amazingly hot
MP real shame Quiz is not quite right. Hope it's nothing much and you're back on track soon. Don't know how you manage 6. And a half.
Brilliant pics, Red

I'm going WAY out of my comfort zone and have affiliated BS and entered a British Novice this weekend. I never even did that on Amber. But nothing ventured....

ETA, BE take note: although I did have the faff of registering self and horse, it was all done in half an hour and my membership number came through pretty much straight away with an electronic membership card. And I could enter without Lottie's number. So an impulsive 'let's go showjumping' thought led me to join BS and enter this weekend immediately; And Lottie's number was through by this morning and I have updated my entry online. So, so much easier and quicker.

For me... Nothing!

But it is for a good reason... We just came back, last night, from camp! So BH is absolutely exhausted and is having 3 days off, then a hack, then a little local dressage.

He really seemed to grow up at camp! Had some Fab dressage lessons, finally tackled proper fillers (and not just to the side as we have been doing) and broke all barriers XC. He was a dream to handle and around the place, tried his socks off the whole time.

Some obligatory photos!

The final photo was lifted off a video. The jump didn't look so big but someone told me it was so I went back next day and measured it.

1.20, including the slope and brush o_O

I wouldn't have jumped it if I'd known! :p

Lovely to see photos where both horse and rider look like they're having a great time. It's not at all common, unfortunately, but your boy is clearly very lucky to have you (and vice versa, I suspect!)

Lovely pics red and that sounds like a fab camp. So nice to see. I took Finn to camp when he was 5 and it was so good for getting to know him and to build our partnership.

Fab pictures Red!

I am just about to pack up the lorry and head west to meet @j1ffy and others. I have ridden Maddie a couple of times so far this week and she is feeling much more like her normal self again - I am very relieved!!

Have a good time all, good luck to those competing, and I hope the sicknotes feel better soon.

Sounds like lots of fun being planned.
Have a dressage lesson tomorrow followed by arena eventing at the local club on Sunday. It’s on grass which is good practice for balance etc on a slightly sloping field rather than a nice flat arena.
We have had a fair bit rain and ground is good to soft.

Am trying to book a xc hire next week for some (more) ditch training (mr H says welsh cob eating ? live in ditches) in prep for an outing later this month.

Have a good time everyone.

Good luck to those out and about this weekend.

Not a lot happening here, have completely lost my mojo - what with coblet being on walk duty, and although Sham is feeling fab the school is too deep to use and the ground like concrete, so we can't really do much.
Did have a lesson on Wednesday and began work on the piris, which he finds far too easy, so having to make sure he doesn't take over.
Have booked an arena hire on Sunday to try and give myself a boost, and entered a comp next weekend in the hope it gives me something to focus on and a much needed boost.

Going to go watch xc tomorrow; otherwise, will be hand walking the big yoke. He had steroid and HA injections this week, should have been a couple of weeks ago but he had a bit of a skin infection.
Laser treatment then due to kick off in about 2 weeks.

I posted on here about losing our lovely little dog.. kind of unexpectedly, we ended up rehoming a very nice retriever boy last week. Does this count as arena eventing?

Quiet one for us.
saddler was out yesterday and I managed to get most of the big horse clipped in between my hires appearing.

Will probably give the big horse a pop now that he has a jumping saddle again. Jack has his BD debut next weekend so I should probably have a look at his tests.

Raz is just coming back into work after his extended holiday so he’ll do some intervals and the baby is still rehabbing so will go on the walker while I finish off the big guy’s clip.

He has a scan booked for Tuesday so ?? we get the ok to start introducing trot again.

Hope everyone has a good weekend ?

Beast not right behind when we got there so it was good expectations were low. He was at least very happy to go out in the trailer with his best mate though so he thinks he had a nice day ?.

Not seen a horse in a few weeks for a variety of reasons.

Autumn/winter lesson bookings are released this eve, which is great in theory as I hate last minute booking/plans, and can pay it all in one go. However I'm betting good money not one Saturday private will have been scheduled...

Eagle was great today- his first RC lesson, he goes into racehorse mode when the others start cat
ntering but settles again quickly and he really tried today. Kept it very small, just lots of little thinking footwork things. He has such a great brain- he doesn’t mind making a mistake, he just comes round again and improves. Can’t believe I got so lucky as I did just take a bit of a punt on him buying him from the field

This was his second session jumping earlier in the week (on grass) and then a couple of clips from today

We went eventing! One of Epworths have a go days. No photos/video as flying solo. Very sweet dressage (would have been better except for an unexpected bee to the face causing a spook/break in canter) for 33., keen but clear SJ and the simply the best XC round. Made the step up to 90 and I think he jumped better than ever, he was absolutely flying! First one ever for him, first one for me in over 6yrs (and the last one was fairly traumatic)

2 little mistakes/misunderstandings, but re-presented and jumped both things without hesitation. I think he simply wasn’t sure about the question/I didn’t give clear enough directions.

The feeling he gives me XC is the best thing ever, he’s grown up so much this season and I feel he’s really starting to understand (and love!) the game ❤️

For anyone who is interested, these are (nearly, I think one is missing) all our eventing dressage scores since I started with him this time last year. My instructor and I have put so much hard work into his dressage and it’s so lovely to see it paying off!

*cough* photos, info?

Hopefully this photo works
IMG-20220806-WA0002.jpg

He is by Timolin and out of a lovely Irish mare.
I've wanted a Timolin for years and always regretted not breeding my own when I had my mare and I've always followed him.
Being a flashy chestnut was a bonus and he is a lovely person too.
Only a yearling so plenty of time to watch him in the field before he does anything exciting.
First thing to do is arrange some transport to get him home!

Mr Sicknote has been on his meds for 2 whole days and appears to have made a miraculous recovery. Vet said to continue with exercise so i gave him a couple of days and then decided he looked suitably wired and ready for work :p Back to his jolly daft self :D I never thought i'd be wishing he was less well behaved, but there you go!
He was whizzy enough to get sweaty, and recovered immediately. Hopefully just a blip then.

Well I won my own bet! Is there anywhere in Sussex/Hants/Surrey that offers lessons on well schooled horses (up to AM, not sure I fancy something that piaffes when I sneeze) with decent coaching on a Saturday?!

I bought a horse ?

Looks lovely! :D

For the first time in 35(?) years I have not acted as a steward/judge for a local agricultural show on the 1st Saturday in August.
I have stewarded for some well known names and learned a lot over the years but just before Covid started, I went to the funeral of the Horse Section Secretary, then there was no Show for 2 years.
I decided that I have done my share of standing all day in heat/wind/rain in the middle of an exposed field in return for a sandwich and an apple, so when I was asked if I would be available today, I said, unfortunately not, I have got too old now.

Eta, nearer 40 years, 1st time was 1985, for most of those years, sister and I stewarded WH classes, BSPS and adults. End of an era!

Hurray! I can finally join in! Since I've had Thor (Feb this year) he has had cellulitis x 2, diagnosed with 'navicular' which turned out to be a grumbling abscess, kicked by each of my other horses & also has been discovered to have PSSM type 2. Luckily/sadly I am experienced with PSSM so know what to do with diet, supplements & management. Today we finally got to our 2nd ever comp. We managed a 5th in a walk-trot during a brief window of soundness a while ago, & today we did our first prelim.

O/h was taking photos & managed to take a couple of someone who wasn't me by accident! Apparently all horses look the same...
