guy wearing riding tights

i recently seen a young guy wearing riding tights at the yard (i know he would sometimes wear jeggings as well )
we got talking a he was saying its very hard to get breeches that fit him he has the build of a rugby player
and that in summer he wants to be cooler and comfortable
im am wanting to know what is your opinion on this
i don't know what to think my self ( just to make it clear he wears something underneath cycling shorts i think ?)
you know what is there but its not on display if you can understand me

I'm not sure I understand the question. I don't really have an opinion, other then I am glad he has found something comfortable to wear.

Are you thinking it is sexual in some way?
 
His name is Rudolf Nureyev is it? o_O Seriously though folks, why shouldn't the guys feel as comfortable as we like to when riding, and who cares if being comfortable in riding tights just happens to show for sure they are men, and likewise our riding tights show for sure we are women? Or are we going to go down the route of 'oh he is just asking for it , look how he dresses'............we all know what that attitude feels like eh :rolleyes:?
 
I think riding tights were a great invention. I haven't wore jodphurs since I discovered them. I'm not surprised men are getting in on it
 
Not really sure what you’re getting at, but I think there’s a massive gap in the market for men’s riding wear. I do feel for them when they only have a couple of brands to choose from and nothing else. Haven’t seen any men’s “budget” or cheaper wear

By any chance was he wearing blue / Opal ariat eos tights

i am going to answer most of the questions in one go

yes there is not much choice of mens wear cavallo being the best i have found £££
that is possibly because there is not that many men riding i know of about 8 men who ride
i now have 5 pair`s of tights / 2 pair of legging witch i would wear as well and various jeggings

and no i have not worn a skirt i have worn / own a kilt

i don`t want to offend any one (modern day snowflakes) as long as i am not displaying my self i don't see any problem

on the subject of cheaper wear i do wear jeggings thay do the same thing for me and aren't as tight they are good for yard work and a can wear the with or with out tall boots
 
It's strange that the UK has less male riders than most other countries. What do men in America, China, Mongolia or Turkey wear ?
 
i do want to ask one thing while we are all here

which is better
i would tuck my shirt in when i am wearing breeches/jods because if i don't i can feel people stearing at me that and it looks better

but when i wear tights would you`s prefer me to wear a longer shirt to cover up a bit
or for me to tuck in my shirt like every one else

I've never noticed male riders being under represented in UK, there have always been many male riders at ever yard I have been on and majority of professional riders are male riders in all equestrian sport.

I can honestly say though I have never noticed what they were wearing and will still not be giving it any thought, as long as riders, male and female, are not exposing themselves why has anyone even been so bothered by it they've felt the need to create a post
