this really insenses meAnd referred to putting elderly and infirm horses down as 'killing' them......the irony
As a trivial aside, did anyone watch the video of her and Mabel 'singing'? I watched the first ten seconds or so of it and it's actually quite cute - her horses are generally very affectionate with her. She REALLY can't sing though!
Sadly I think you're right, I also think mabels new good behaviour is that she's actually given up trying to communicate and just shut down / is complying. All very sad and doubly so that this is a vet who should have a better understanding of these things. The horses all seem institutionalised into having to do what she says though, so don't really know how to say 'No'?
And I don't think they get much if any time being able to be tactile with other horses do they? The odd few moments over a door, or leaning over a fence in a field?
So I'm not sure if it is 'affection' rather than simple desperation for actual interaction and physical contact with another being which is so important in their daily lives?
And she's admitted before that she rewards them for doing things like the twisted neck moments, so it's learned behaviour for reward rather than anything else perhaps?

Are her horses not turned out together?

I might feature on her page soon . Someone posted her worming advise on a local equestrian page. I suggest people should seek advise from there own professionals. She jumped on it very quickly. Ooops
ETA - she just replied to someone agreeing with what I've said!!
Or ill fitting tack? Which she openly admits probably in the hope of a saddlery sponsor.Oh my GOODNESS!!!
(This is to the worming thread btw!)
Yes, Mabel was so distressed she lost herself and went over. She has seemingly tried repeatedly to express that she struggles to do what is required of her, and now has bony changes in at least one hock. But she's not in pain or overwhelmed, she's just been difficult. So has Alfred...
(They do get turned out daily I believe. I am absolutely not a fan, but don't want to be spreading untruths, or see them spread.)
I’m pretty sure whilst she posted a while back about saddles not fitting, she’s since posted about having her saddler out and rejigging who wears what saddle, and having saddles adjusted and everyone currently has a recently checked, adjusted and passed by a saddler as good fit saddle. There were posts about this post saddler visit.Or ill fitting tack? Which she openly admits probably in the hope of a saddlery sponsor.

I've noticed none of this 'advice' ever tells people what they should do, only what they shouldn't. Her worming post, and the recent comments, could have advised what owners should do, but instead she just insults people that try and learn.

Yet most professional riders will tell you that every horse they ride teaches you something new. The best teacher is your horse !Has anyone seen on that falling over video someone commented ‘I bet she has taught you lots’
The reply
‘Oh, she hasn’t taught me much as I’ve backed and ridden difficult ones since I was 10! But very relieved she’s pulled herself together now!’
The sheer arrogance! why does she feel the need to correct any comments that make her look anything other than the world’s best rider!
