Friday eve, unmuzzled XL bully with owner rounds the corner of our street while we're getting ready to load Ivy into the car parked on street just outside our house. Not much pavement space so I thought probably they would cross the street but quickly became apparent not as it towed the guy along. It was one of the bigger ones I've seen and that's saying something.

OH was bent down reaching across the back seat of the car setting up a blanket for Ivy so was oblivious. There wasn't time to explain and my fight/flight instinct just took over - I scruffed the back of OHs coat and yanked him out of the car, launched Ivy in, slammed the car door shut, took OHs arm and directed us both back into the house. I could hear the dog behind us doing something but did not stop, did not look back, no questions asked, I protected us and our dog. Such a horrible feeling.
So scary! I hope I’d have been quick witted enough to do the same.

I didn't even think about it, just acted on instinct. OH was a bit grumpy about it because he bonked his head on the car on the way out and of course had no idea what was going on. I did apologise once we were in the house and I could explain!

I'd be reporting that thing...sounds awful. well done on the quick thinking.

Same feed merchant as last time....lady in front of me at the checkout was arguing with staff because they won't put puppy adverts on the board, she has a litter of cockerpoos and has only sold 2 - the other 9 she's now planning on dumping on a rescue centre as "she hasn't got time"

Not so much irresponsible, more inconsiderate, at a country store buying horse feed at the weekend and there was a lady in the shop with a Springer that cocked it's leg on a display in the shop and then again on a display just outside the shop. The poor weekend kids had the job of cleaning it up while the lady & her dog walked out with only a small bag of dog biscuits or something. My dog was waiting in the car as I don't feel there's a need to get her out for a 10 minute shopping trip in January.

Owners allowing their dogs to pee indoors and not clearing up is the reason why some garden centres locally have stopped dogs going inside.

I don't want to buy stuff that's been pissed on, whether somebody has tried to clean it off or not.

Indeed, the pissed on stock will have to be thrown away creating a loss as well as extra work which is why I added that the shop only gained the sale of what looked like only a small bag of treats for their trouble.

I was in a Devon town last year, it was a lovely summer's day and a couple came past a paved square with cafe furniture and their large dog had a pee on a chair. It may have been aiming for the chair leg but it size meant the wee just landed perfectly on the seat of the chair and just sort of pooled there. I don't know the outcome, I was only passing but was gobsmacked. I hope nobody sat in it 🤢

I'd thought peeing on the floor - didn't consider that it was likely to be on the goods also
I buy my wet cat food in the big multipacks. The last lot I got, I couldn’t for the life of me work out why some of the pouches smelt like urine - mice in the house?? mice in the store warehouse?? It now occurs to me that the multipacks are always on the bottom shelf in pets at home, right at pissing level.

I'd never had a dog pee indoors til these 2, both have lifted a leg in Pets at Home. I notified staff, offered to clean up and they have never been taken anywhere bar their walks since bar the vets, where we lingered outside, everybody had a pee. Get inside, one pees in the waiting room, one in the consulting room. Horrific.

Double bubble tonight. Came round a corner and saw a figure outside my house. In darkness. No lights or reflective gear.

'Have you got a dog?' x2

No response.

'HAVE YOU GOT A DOG?'

My dog then barked twice, answering my question for me, so I went back around corner and waited for them to pass. The reason she didn't respond was because she was ON THE PHONE. I may have shouted something waspy....

Then with old dog, big grey LGD type with hackles up like a yard brush, already aroused because a dog in a garden across the road was barking, the guy told it to sit six times, it did not, and he still said 'good boy' 😅

You can't say this without telling us the waspy phrase.

Sincerely, your friend who'd like a waspy phrase or two in the bank 😂

Edited as I messed up quoting and repeated myself

Bad start to the day today. I read a thread on the local Fb page.

1st time dog owner, 17 week old puppy ate something it shouldn't. Can't afford a vet consultation fee.

Bad enough, but then I made the mistake of scrolling through some of the 160 useless comments posted by idiots. 'Oh, it's okay I give my dog x,y,z to eat all the time. He's fine.'

And no doubt will blame the vets if it has to go in outside of normal hours.

Any further up my hump 😂😂

I think I'm genetically unable to say that but I'll put it in the bank !

'I DON'T HAVE EYES IN MY ARSE' is a good one for cyclists who approach fast from behind with no bell and get shitty with you when they nearly ride over your (on leash) dog.
