I saw resident Rottie this morning, being walked still with no muzzle despite attacking several dogs and biting a man who needed stitches. Rottie owner looked shocked to see me and asked why I was there so early. I told him that I always ride in the morning during winter due to the clock change. He knows this, we have the same conversation every year. He then proceeded to trespass around our land, letting his dog cr*p everywhere.

So nothing has changed.

That's so sad.

Honestly, if it were my dogs, I'd be hunting them down with a gun and hoping to get to them first. Ok, that's far easier and more legal where I live at the moment than in the UK though!

It'd spare them the kennels and they don't need to exist anymore, quite frankly.

I'd likely never be in that situation in the first place, but still.

not sure vigilantism is ever the solution. feels like sinking to a pretty low level. immoral even if legal - I will always argue violence is never the solution to violence and for that reason, do support police confiscating dangerous/out of control dogs. Besides, if a random in the street does it, there's much less preventing them going out and getting another dog to do the same.

Have there always been this many bully attacks, or are they just being picked up more by the press?
There seems to be something every day now

I think there are just more bullys. The fur babies are no longer pups ... i am seeing them in my area now. Saw a young one yesterday that was being walked by a middle aged woman who Im not sure was totally in control. I moved well out of her way but it was very interested in us. She was repeating 'keep walking' to it as she managed to drag it past us on a barness and stretchy lead. Then a cyclist
came along so she had to crouch down and cling on to its harness. 🙄

This is my concern if we end up buying property with land. What happens if you tell him he's trespassing? Can you report him for the lack of muzzle?

His response to being told he is trespassing is “I’ve walked this land for years and I don’t do any harm”.
We’ve had countless arguments with him over the years, as has our YO. He is so unbelievably arrogant, and is one of those people who never thinks he is ever in the wrong.
I don’t even know what to do anymore. It has been reported multiple times, the police have been involved and yet nothing seems to change.

People are sadly of the opinion that you are just mean, if you don't let them roam about your land at will. The only thing that stops them is very good fencing. We have just paid a small fortune for tornado fencing round the edge of our dry stone walled 3 acres. We are putting gates in at the ends and they will be locked. We have no rights of way across our land but do have one alongside. We have 9"off sets on both sides of the posts, for electric fencing. If we had any rights of way, we would fence them, to the width agreed by the la. Our old livery yard owner did that and also built a track for his own tractor. Those complaining about the footpath being fenced off, then used the tractor track to walk their dogs🤦‍♀️

Bath Racecourse are now telling people to stop walking their dogs in the centre of the course as they are going to start grazing sheep there. The dog walkers are up in arms, its the only green space around for my reactive rescue dog, where am I meant to walk now etc etc. Apparently the land they are walking on is private land and there are clearly marked public footpaths around the perimeter of the course which they are able to use but don't want to 🙄
can you take your dog up kelston roundhill ? Park in Weston ?

Just seen request for information from anyone who is thinking of having some fireworks in the local village on bonfire night, on FB. This caring dog owner has a dog who is nervous and frightened by fireworks.
I'm hopping mad because her dog runs round off lead, barking, scaring kids and other dogs/owners, and being a general pesky nuisance. It killed one of our lambs, ripped it's throat out. But all that presumably isn't a problem to her, as it could so easily be prevented.
I despair sometimes.

Another off lead dog bothering mine who were on lead, the owner said don’t worry she won’t hurt them 😱😱. How I didn’t swear I don’t know, I just said that’s not the point and walked off.. what is the matter with people, I have 2 terriers and a lurcher who could have attacked his dog , he’s not to know that they wouldn’t . It’s my own fault for going out later today, I normally only see people I know so life is easy …

A rescue near my hometown have just proudly posted how they've rehomed a pocket bully who has never lived indoors to a family with small kids. Like, maybe the dog is grand but it made me shudder to see the post 😳
I’m not sure we’ve had any reports of issues with the pockets (??)

To be fair I've only ever met one, she lives in the flats at my office building and she is a very nervy little thing and very strong for her size. But I fully accept I could just have a bias against them but they're just not a dog I would choose to have around kids.

I think a boy and girl have been attacked by them in seperate incidents August/Sept time.

According to Pitbull Tribe 😉 these charming pets are a cross between an American Pitbull and an American Staffy which makes them ideal for homes with young children !!!

* sorry text reads:

Dude.
Ok, we cannot state this strong enough, Dude has issues, he has bitten in the past, nothing major, but a bite is a bite, he is also NOT tolerant around other dogs, he prefers women to men.
So whoever takes and gives this lad a chance must understand, he will not be the best dog to go to any dog day centres, he hates them, so please understand, it's a no, no for Dude.
Due to an incident in a park, Dude now has to go for walks with a muzzle no, he doesn't like people running up to him, so please keep him safe.
He is a really happy dog 90% of the time, the other 10% he is an absolute dickhead.
He is approximately 7 years old and in need of a Guardian Angel.
If you can offer any of our dogs a new home, please ring us on 07921215049, after 11am on Thursday or Friday, to book to come and see the Saturday or Sunday.
Please don't message me, I am not on Facebook much, and don't always get the notifications.
Just ring the number, I answer 99.9% of the calls and try to ring back, when I miss one.

Yes Zelda came back, due to the family breaking up and going their separate ways and Zelda being exactly what we have said she would be!
Her life so far...
By 5 months old she had already had two owners, she nipped the child in the house because of a chew.
Since being with us, she has had tummy issues, on her day of speying, she had to have 1.5kg of food removed from her stomach because it was compacted, she was spayed and had a testicle removed too.
Now she is gaining weight and loving her walks, she is not as sensitive around her stomach and is showing good behaviour in most areas.
However, Zelda is still very much work in progress, she has never bitten us, an occasional nip, which if it goes unchecked it could potentially turn into a bite.
Zelda is a Malinois x, possibly German Shepherd or and Collie, but her Microchip states German Shepherd or puppy vaccination card states Malinois, so if the breeder has no idea, nor do we!?! To top it off, her date of birth is 1st April 2021, you couldn't make it up, could you?!?
So a home experienced in Malinois would be best, just to make sure they understand HER needs, is what we are looking for, for Zelda.
No children or small furries, not overly keen on dogs, her whole personality is unpredictable.
Sadly she bit her recent owner, when he tried to step between her and another dog, who was OFF LEAD, he didn't muzzle her, when she obviously doesn't like dogs in her territory, and OFF LEAD DOGS ARE THE BIGGEST CAUSE OF DOG ON DOG ATTACKS.
Muzzles are there to keep your dog alive.
The law states in public places, YOU MUST BE IN FULL CONTROL OF YOUR DOG. A dog off lead is IN CONTROL NOT YOU, they decide IF they are going to come back on your command NOT YOU.

Bl**dy hell, where is this? They need shutting down.
