I am sorely tempted to write to BE about her bringing the sport into disrepute as this has already been reported in the national press. I am not sure if a complaint would be taken seriously as there might be a conflict of interest, the chair of the BE directors Mark Sartori owns Monkeying Around according to his profile on BE website.

Actually he said publicly that when he took up directorship of BE he gave up ownership of the horse as he didn't want to be accused of any conflict of interest!

Look , she has behaved very badly , I suspect she behaves badly quite a lot, she does her own thing .
It needs to stop.
She is bringing herself into disrepute not BE . She needs to sort herself out . i hope people who know her well owners family members friends will be extremely frank about how she’s conducting herself .
I doubt she will be considered for a team any time soon and that will have a profound effect on the horses she can attract .
Mostly she must look after her staff properly and shame on those who send horses to her if they don’t keep an eye on this because they are best placed to influence this .

Thank you for the correction. His profile on the BE website is obviously out of date as that was where I got that information.
He is also still listed as joint owner on the horse's BE profile as well.

Monkeying Around has been on the market for a while, since Mark Sartori took over at BE. Just hasn’t sold as suspect he is a tricky horse and they want strong money for him.

Still down as owned by Mark Sartori on Eventing Scores today, so one assumes still looking for new ownership?

A bit of background her barrister who made sure the judge knew she was " pro bono" at what was supposed to be a sentencing hearing that Izzy Taylor did not attend is indeed a part owner. She part owns a horse called Bayaanaat via her company CTGQC LLP.
Despite Mr Sartori stating he has given up part ownership of Monkeying Around and still being listed on both Eventing Scores and the BE website as a part owner does not look good with regards to conflicts of interest.

Well if you can’t sell the horse, you can’t sell the horse. It’s too good to be given away and very tricky so will put a lot of people off for Olympics. Its record mixes between amazing or dire. Nobody wants a horse like that for Olympics.

Because it hasn’t gone to court…. Innocent until proven guilty!

My only experience of her is watching a groom hold her horse for 40 mins and then see her get on, go from stand to a virtual gallop, straight over one XC warm up and then to the start box. Decided then and there I didn't like her 🤣

She pleaded guilty at the first hearing then chose not to co-operate with the legal process.
This was supposed to be the sentencing hearing which she did not attend.

How have they managed to argue that her income is too low to pay for her own psychiatric reports?! It can't be that low surely?

Ms Goodwin said her client was the breadwinner for her family and, despite competing at the highest level in her sport and running her own stables, was on a ‘very low level income’.

I dunno, there's a reason the vast majority of professional riders come from wealthy backgrounds - it's not a sport to make a lot of money as all the sponsorship & winnings goes on the horses.

I do get that, I know they don't make a lot of money, but surely we're not talking poverty levels? So that the taxpayer has to pay for something that is clearly just a delaying tactic?

Would a person on living wage working in a shop get treated the same - I'm honestly just wondering what the court would think was low enough to justify this!

She is not at poverty level

Interesting she can be a director of her company, can get the accounts done but cannot be arsed to look after her staff's welfare properly IMO. 🤨

Generally people can find money and time for things that are important to them. Staff welfare was obviously not on the priority list in this case.

Imagine if she wins Badminton....

The football club I follow have suspended a player while he's investigated for a trial he went through (it could be because his potential crime was more serious) and even after the charges are dropped he remains suspended while it's investigated internally

How published has it been about her? Have places like horse and hound picked it up?

As far as I know H&H haven’t reported it. I subscribe and read it every week but this thread is the first I knew if this.
Unsurprising! What is the point of a sporting news publication that ignores awkward news. You sure as hell don't get that with cricket, football, rugby, tennis, F1. What is wrong with our sport, its so closed off and arrogant.

Agree it's like they're trying to protect her. Very arrogant - yet football the minute one of them does something wrong, the media is very quick to report it

I nose through their FB sometimes and I don't think the horse fatality at the eventing recently with Douglas Crawford was reported either, unless it was hidden in an article
