Agree it's like they're trying to protect her. Very arrogant - yet football the minute one of them does something wrong, the media is very quick to report it

I nose through their FB sometimes and I don't think the horse fatality at the eventing recently with Douglas Crawford was reported either, unless it was hidden in an article
It is mentioned in the eventing pages of this week’s magazine. (And also a pic of a very fat show cob - but that’s another point of contention).

My only experience of her is watching a groom hold her horse for 40 mins and then see her get on, go from stand to a virtual gallop, straight over one XC warm up and then to the start box. Decided then and there I didn't like her 🤣
I knew her personally some time ago. I was unlucky enough to do 'work experience' with her. My neighbour was her head girl and at 17, I was itching to get some experience working on a professional yard. I was doing it was free but in 4 days, she put me off working with horses well and truly.
One example - we'd all have lunch together in her/her parents house. Granted they provided me a light lunch, but I on my first day and subsequent days, I was expected to do all the washing up and remember being in the kitchen clearing everything away on my own and thinking 'I didn't come here to do this and for free too!'.
It was a roasting August day and she'd have me and a 12 year old girl raking the track of the arena, then she'd canter past and shout at us if we'd missed a bit.
She'd snatch tack out my hand and show me how to clean it her way.
Just a couple of examples - she was a nasty piece of work and I went off to work with people after that, before later returning to work with horses and had far better experiences for much nicer people! Just couldn't believe how she treated her staff, especially the inexperienced and unpaid ones.

Mad to treat anyone that badly! But especially someone doing it for free!

This thread is so sad, a horrible bunch of jealous individuals, lazily relying upon hearsay.

This thread is based on the reports of IT's court case, not on hearsay or gossip. A couple of posters have also posted about their personal interactions with her but the general discussion has been about IT's court case and in particular her own line of defence.

If you are a friend or family member trying to support/defend her then I'm afraid that making comments like that are likely to make the rest of us think that our impressions of her are correct. If you feel that the rest of us have a false impression of her/the court case then please explain to us which bits of the reported court case are false, and how you know them to be so.

If the reporting of IT's case has been libellous then I suggest that you/IT takes legal advice on pursuing the press in court for damages. If the reporting has indeed been lies then I would have sympathy with IT, but I haven't seen any evidence that that is the case.

We are always up for a good discussion on this forum, but you need to present some evidence not just sling insults at the posters you don't agree with 🤷‍♀️

Firstly, I don't think anyone here is jealous of someone being prosecuted in a court of law over their own failings on the safety of their staff.
And secondly court proceedings are not based on hearsay.

I think it's horrible that people are lazily coming on here to defend someone who put their staff at risk.
I'd be embarrased to admit knowing someone like that.

Anyone else enjoying the irony of H and H quoting Izzy Taylor as complaining that horses of the 5* caliber she rides deserve an all weather dressage arena.... nevermind 5* grooms getting decent safe accomodation?

No? Where's that posted/published?

Clearly didn't take on board what Stuart Buntine said at Throseby (if she was there) about the cost of putting in all weather arenas... or indeed is aware of the costs involved

From page 39 of this week's Horse and Hound edition, pub May 11.

Well said, Harry, just get on with it.

Surely with the arguments we have seen with horses struggling to compete cross country due to being so used to being on a surface, dressage on grass should be celebrated as a preparation? If you aren't comfortable riding a dressage test because the ground is bad then why would you take them round a 5 star course?

I agree that many issues seen today are due to horses very rarely been ridden or competed on grass. It's all arena. A horse that works on grass gets used to adapting to different types of going. Equally back in the day many hunted so were used to needed stamina and adaptability and finding that 5th leg as necessary. My old vet said many of the modern day injuries were caused by arenas.

On a yard visit Harry has an arena.... I believed him when he said he barely used it as we all hiked up to the top field instead.
