She certainly isn't. If people are willing to pay to gawp over pics of breasts then so be it. I imagine she earned more in an hour's photo shoot than I do working 8 odd hours in a dull drum office job!

Maybe I should consider a career change......! ;-)

There are plenty of people out there who buy fantastic, flashy 'made' horses and get the best instructors they can afford to teach them without ever working their way up - it's not just celebrities who do it!

Speaking as a male reader, I can assure you that she does not as I am not turned on by the "plastic fantastic" look.

I do hope H&H does not become another Hello magazine and I suspect her motivation is related to promoting her equestrian clothing business for free.

Surely the pictures were intended to be seen as sexualized, a form of soft porn, which I consider to be demeaning to both men and women. You are of course entitled to your own view about that, but I have worked with many people who have been the victims of society thinking that such behaviour is acceptable and the greater excesses which it leads to.

It's not a sex worker though is it. Blokes expose their chests daily (whether we like it or not!) but the minute a woman shows a breast then it's seen as sexual. Slightly unfair isn't it. Sex exists, we generally all do it and there's nothing wrong with admiring other peoples bodies. If people want to pay to ogle some glossy pics then more fool them. Photos of celebrity men's torsos are often made poster pages in women's/teen mags but they're not then deemed 'sex workers ' are they and I am pretty sure they didn't pose for free!!

The difference with Jessica Springsteen and Zara ect is they still worked to get where they are. They did not just jump on a horse and go to Hoys in their bling! They focus on horses solely. Katie does...a little bit of everything. She doesn't focus on horses.
 
I can't believe what a turn this thread has suddenly taken! Honestly people, who are we to judge what she did for her job?

I wouldn't do Glamour modelling (or any, in fact!) for any kind of money, but that doesn't mean I think myself better than people who do.

It's awfully judgemental considering nobody that's commented actually knows the woman (I say 'know', not 'has met'- although the comments from people that have met her have been positive!)

Exactly, she doesn't focus on horses and we don't see her competing at a level anywhere near that of a professional, nor does she claim to be one?

The woman is allowed to have hobbies!

ETA - according to her website, she did start out with mucking out horses in return to ride until she had proven she could manage and was allowed to have a loan horse!

A hobby is perfectly fine, but H&H is not exactly a hobby mag, or is it? I'm not sure i haven't got it in ages :D

It's full of pictures of hobby horse people: hunting, showing, dressage, driving etc. They aren't all pro riders. Or are they?
 
If I had the money, I would buy an expensive horse and spend the money on top trainers as well! Who wouldn't? You wouldn't buy a £500 pony and have lessons at a riding school would you?

Yep everyone would. Thats not the issue. Point was she wants to be on H&H cover at some point, and despite having all these fancy horses and trainers and a decent ability, she doesn't focus on it.

To me, H&H is the top mag, and to be on it you need to earn it.

If she was serious about it and worked from now until the time she was on the mag in years to come doing constant horsey stuff and shows and workign her way up..fair enough - but i think she just wants to add it to her bucket list: "wrote" a book, made a perfume, been on ok mag, been in im a celeb..etcetc..


Back to a point made earlier tho about the bras. I think i remember her saying she gets them online from america?
 
If she really was serious about doing well in dressage she has all the money, drive and connections to make that happen. If she did achieve something notable in equestrianism I would be quite happy for her to be on the cover as with anyone else who has achieved the same but isn't otherwise famous. As it is she hasn’t achieved anything at all as far as I can see?

I don't think just being a celebrity is justification for front cover status we have Hello magazine for that. I gave up Your Horse because it was so banal and hope H&H doesn't go the same way.
 
Katie Price on the cover of H/H that would the final straw for me. The magazine has gone down hill, I no longer enjoy reading it, too much Dressage,show jumping etc. The racing spot is short and although they have tried with the Hunting and PTP not enough. I still buy every week but am getting to the stage where I can walk by the Magazine rack with out wanting to buy and in my household that has been unheard of for over 30 years.

I just mention money as you said the fact she's bought her way into it doesn't sit well with you.

I agree that she should actually appear on the cover for a reason, as in there is a relevant article inside, but your comment suggests it should only be if she's dedicated 100% of her life to horses. What if she carried out some significant equine charity work alongside her everyday life? Would that not be allowed because she was also promoting books, perfume, magazine deals at the same time?
 
I bet she is reading this with a massive smile on her face as she is the centre of attention. Love her or hate her she has the right to dream just like everyone else. As I have never met her I cannot make any comment about her personality but if she has success with hef horses and deserves to be on the front of horse and hound good luck to her.

I am nearly 100% sure i saw she donates to an equine charity..probably a lot of money too.

Well for that reason alone, I would say she bloomin well should be on the cover of HHO. I'd rather see someone who has donated a large amount of money to a reputable charity (hoping it is one) than someone who spends all their money on blingy browbands and matchy.

Oh and just to add, I am completely indifferent to Katie Price as I don't know her. I know of her, but don't know her personally.

I don't KNOW that she donates. In the brain there is something telling me shes tweeted about a charity (possibly brooke?!?!?) but i could be wrong, but if she did im sure it was more than the usual £10 or at least i would hope.
