My yard mate got her lovely boy from Solway. Might be worth giving them a message.

They look really good!

The NH season is ending very soon so there may be a batch retiring soon as they've lost interest etc, so may be worth dropping some emails to trainers in your radius to put the feelers out?

I think it was these that said on their Facebook page they had one come in but not advertised yet.

Dumfriesshire!

Honestly guys, I'm grateful you aren't pointing me to 14.1 full feather coloured cobs but so far you haven't pointed me to one within a reasonable travel distance! I certainly don't have the motivation to do more than 2 hours.

I don’t know the seller but have seen recommendations for them before.

P.S I know it’s a bit further south than you’d like but you’d be welcome to break the journey here and come and meet my herd of bananas.

Those will be way out of budget, sorry. If there is another then it has to be money I can afford to lose. The banana meeting is a big yes when we are next down that way :)

Ah sorry! I had in my head it was £5k and figured they may take an offer for £4k. The only time I’ve paid asking price for a horse was Mim, and that was because she was so underpriced to start with!

I also have a terrible non-conforming suggestion

There is the most gloriously gold palomino for sale - akhal teke x thb, about 6 I think, very small at about 14.3hh, but within two hours of you.

It sounds like it’s being sold as unridden/ broodmare due to being ridiculously hot to ride, so apparently it is going for significantly less than it’s worth. But on the plus side, it’s not far to fall and you must have a fantastic seat. 😊

He looks really sweet, is he too small? I'm terrible at conformation and no longer have anyone to do with horses but am.a sucker for a bay with facemark. The "but I'm over run" - dealer?

Terrible sales photos it really bugs me why people do it I literally would disregard him because of the first picture.

They do retrain them but if you send them your requirement I'm sure they would be happy not to. They have just got a chesnut, Big Joe, in 4 days ago so won't have done much with him. Based in Hassall, Cheshire.

I was about to ask for a link as I may have a vacancy for a lunatic, but no one can replace my lunatic and what I really need is a small sensible companion pony to fill the herd space, so perhaps l shouldnt ask.

Not sure if this is within your catchment (google says 1.45 hours but I’m not sure on your exact location as to theirs!) but if you head to the bottom of the “for sale” page, there’s a contact no. Suggesting that they might have ottbs for retraining? Also seems they prefer a loan basis…
Edited to add: sorry, didn’t check if this had been suggested before!

I am resisting temptation too. I will be super helpful and post the photo and the group name for you, sellers personal information redacted.

Nope, not happy to let me have anything without adding a big markup, I've already been in touch. Also crowd funding 50k stables. As if they were a charity when they seem to be a business to me. They wanted 3.5k for one they got 4 days before from the trainer probably for less than half that. I can buy off the trainer and avoid the markup.

If you're looking for straight off the track have you asked your vet? Mine mentioned one time he covers a few racing yards and he could ask around next time I'm looking.
