Have you found one YCBM?

I went to see one but he had a sarcoid near his eye (and was shockingly lacking in muscle, not just running light, but that's another story). I went after the one with the fat leg but it had been taken but that trainer has said they will find one for me. But meanwhile, to my complete surprise, I'm just not missing riding so I'm not doing any more than taking a look at dragon driving and ror daily. There wasn't one pointed to here yet that met my spec 🤣

Hiya, did you find what you are looking for?
I got my boy OTTB with an injury from racing. Have spent 6 months rehabing him and now starting the ridden rehab. He has been an absolute dream and I couldn't wish for a nicer person both in and out of the stable and ridden. I adore TBs and ex racers and like you love the retraining process. I got my boy from Steph Thomas in West Wales. She regularly rehomes ex racers and has some absolute gorgeous horses coming through (like my boy) 😀 she is honest and a fab lady. She stays in touch and is always on hand for advice, a true godsend. If you'd like her details let me know. All the best and I hope you find your next heart horse soon.

Also no recommendations and nothing helpful to offer, but just tuning in for updates.

When I had to part with my last horse due to the import piroplasmosis debacle, and now just have my 2 year old, who obviously isn't ridden, I did consider buying something to ride, but honestly, I don't miss it. I do ride other horses every now and again, but also don't care if I don't. Part of it is because none of these other horses are my last horse. I only want to be riding him, or My horse. YO offers me some of her horses but I'm just "meh" about it.

Sometimes it's hard for me to overlook other people's sh*t. Their care of their horse, their ill fitting tack, their lame horse, or their whatever, so sharing/leasing isn't always the best thing. I've also really enjoyed all of the free time I have not riding. I think I burned myself out going to the yard everyday. Going to clinics, comps, lessons, and giving it 110% as far as riding and care went. Now I see my 2 year old about twice a week or so. We have fun. His care is basic. There's very little pressure. It's been the nicest break. I can afford another, sure, but I don't feel this *need* to ride right now. It's freed up so much time for other things and I'm just not so consumed by the hobby/sport at the moment and it's freeing.

Not sure what the point of this ramble is...but just go at your own pace. It's ok if you find enjoyment in not riding. It's on if you don't ride. It's ok if you buy another horse, it'd also ok if you don't. You'll find your way.

The vices would bother me, need to see what they are, and while he's not a complete blank canvas, needs his schooling worked on. Probably too far but he looks sweet

That one might tempt me, depending on what the vices were. Sounds a nice sort.

He looks really sweet, is he too small? I'm terrible at conformation and no longer have anyone to do with horses but am.a sucker for a bay with facemark. The "but I'm over run" - dealer?

These are both very much my type! Lucy is probably too much not enough of a blank canvas but she sounds great and love her advert!

Not letting me quote your post @webble, but looks like he's landing toe first.

Then again, if anyone were to get a horse like that walking better, it'd be ycbm.

Think you might be right but as you say that's likely fix able I think the not an ex racer and not very big will be more of an issue

Mmm. Can be very difficult to fix in an already barefoot horse..... I would be happy with a little Arab but I'm not thrilled about how he's moving.

Thankfully he's near London!

I don’t know the seller but have seen recommendations for them before.

P.S I know it’s a bit further south than you’d like but you’d be welcome to break the journey here and come and meet my herd of bananas.
