Oyster Bay Sauv Blanc......

Oooh you lot are good! I feel the Blair BBQ lot are a true jack of all trades when it comes to drinking, intake consists of:

Lager
Wine
More wine
Some more wine
Pimms (at 1/3 stronger than the instructions say due to aforementioned wine)
More Nic strength Pimms
Bruadar
Then if the BSJA'ers can still walk, Ginger Tams*

*Caution Ginger Tams will cause caughing/spluttering, falling over tent pegs, falling straight back while looking at the stars & an inability to find your way back to your lorry! :D

Technically it is a sin to drink wine from anything other than a correct style of glass. The wine should be chilled (white/rose) or room temperature (red) or hot (mulled). Obviously there are (often) situations when you have to improvise. I have used both the articles you describle above TS, and also a coffee flask and plastic childs beaker - the type with two handles - v. v. useful when consuming vino collapso in any quantity - they also bounce so when you drop it you can catch it again without spilling a drop. Under terrible desperate circumstances I have also consumed wine from the lid of a deodorant can, the little pots you used to get camera film in (irritatingly tiny - many refills needed) and cutting out the middle man completely - the bottle.

disclaimer - the desperate measures were MOSTLY when I was a student ;)

Just catching up with this thread, but that is friggin hilarious :D

Far back in the mists of time when I used to play polo quite a bit, my parents used to time how fast they could make it to unload me, 2 or 3 horses, studs in, tack on, daughter on board and first glass of wine poured... :D

This rings some bells from my past!!!!!:D

I can't help wondering if H & H will dare to put this up as one of the 'most popular forum topics' in next weeks mag!!!!!!!;)

oooh punk, how lovely to hear from you - but where is your drinking anecdote?? As a Blair veteran I feel sure you will have some  And as you are here, do check out our awesome pony on my miniTD thread, I love him to death but was only thinking of you the other day and wondering what ever happened to your completely edible dun pony?

THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST AND MOST KNOWLEDGEABLY ANSWERED POST EVER ON HHO!!!

Red - Fleurie with steak
White - Siccilian Pinot Grigio with pasta
Other? - margarita with BREAKFAST!

I love the post about progressing per season! made me chuckle!

Following a rather long research session with friends last night, there will be very little work done this morning.

I think that I am much safer staying right here....

Under my desk

I would hazard that Tanquaray and Fever Tree tonic is a lot better than Bombay and Schweppes :p

After seeing this thread last night, I stopped into the wine shop for some Oyster Bay and got distracted by Cloudy Bay instead (at £25 a bottle)....had post wine-spend-guilt!

Hi TD!!

Am a great Wairau Cove fan myself! Went to Tesco's last night to get the special offer ---they had run out! All HHO's fault I guess!!

I did read your mini TD thread and was TERRIBLY impressed both by pony and rider!! We can totally understand the dressage problem!!!- in fact have been meaning to PM you (and will do now!) - am a bit of a 'lurker' on here since I got my fingers burned by the forum thing a couple of years ago (am sure you remember -)!!!

Guess what - we still have the 'pingy pony'!!!! He has gone better and better (double clear in the Intermediate in a very strong section at Aske 2 weeks ago!!).

And now for the scary bit .....he is doing the 2* at Hopetoun next week!!!:eek::eek:
Ask me for my drinking anecdotes after that - :D:D:D

We are doing Blair again - are you coming?
