Don't worry Posie, your little fencelet will be giving you hours of work soon enough!! Leave it a few days and then shove a saddle on it's top rail and away you go! If you find it splinters or misbehaves, make sure you get a distance reading done as fast as possible!

Olliesmum, I got my teeth back from the little man with the ginger wig, gave them a bit of a dust off with a tissue and they're as good as new.

Laurenbay- the fact you got a place at a show just proves you have a good fence, it is no reflection on you. In fact 'all the fence no sense' springs to mind again.
Beausmate- how dare you offer a conflicting view to mine. There is only one way to do anything, & that is my way.

I'm sorry, but you have never met my fence! who are you to judge?! All fences are different and need to be treated differently!

Laurenbay- the fact you disagree with me has hurt my feelings. I have every right to judge you, I redirect you to the post stating my 856 years experience. Therefore I know everything & am in fact a god.

Back off everyone - Moomin1 has got her teeth back

Laurenbay it's on Facebook that your fence is too thin and stringy - and I'm not even a Facebook member so it must be true.

That is not true!

If you look at the 3rd photo in my sig, you will see a very happy Fence! Ignore the Horse, she jumped into the photo, she is jealous about the fence!

This is getting ridiculous!! WHY WHY WHY would you want a fence AND a horse?!!! Pfft, people like you make me sick!! You are just a hoarder aren't you?! I bet you've got a house full of fence poo and I know you probably haven't even bothered stopping them from breeding.

Woodlines lol.
Given the nature of your allegations laurenbay I am now going to report your signature for offending me. It is sick to chance squashing your fence with a horse! Infact, I often encounter inconsiderate horses around my fences, owners should keep them on leads. Also noticing how many posts I have makes you a cyberstalker. I did in fact train many top fencers, including Carl fencester, mar-rail king, Harvey post & all the walltikers.

Moomin1- excellent. Although what do you expect if you leave your posts in grass. Please consider having fence-rays done, there may be rotation of the postal bone, & corrective fencing to be done, it may well need heart barks.

Thanks for the advice littlelegs, I will be more careful from now on. It does lean at a very odd angle. This particular fence which has laminate-itis is just too chunky - probably a result of too many chips in it.

All of my other fences get sanded down every 6-8 weeks and fence oil applied.

Don't worry Littlelegs, I tether my Horse on an open field. So my fences are very safe without the horrible beast around!

All this concern for fences and no-one gives a thought for gates.

Ooh well gates can have two sides to them you know! I've not met one yet which doesn't swing from one side to the other in an argument. They'll trap you when you aren't looking and sometimes won't budge when they don't feel like it.

Yes but then we know everyone on here is quite frankly "gateist" just cos they have their fancy posts and fences they just look down on us with our humble gates. I daren't even ask for advice about rusting and whether it is caused by an over oxygen rich diet... I expect I'd get asked why I'd bother having a gate anyway.

What d'you expect? It's a valid question. Coming on here bragging like that about having a metal gate. Wood not good enough for you then?

Wooden gates are far too high maintenance I'd have to worm it frequently and get specialist help to check it for splinters on a regular basis. Not to mention the carpentry lessons as I can't make it behave by myself - simply don't have the experience. Anyhow everyone on my yard has metal gates it's all about the super shiny accessories you can get for them!

Too high maintenance eh? Takes some skill to handle those wooden gates too because of the splint(er)s. Some of us have got the knack and don't just go for shiny-shiny - I can't understand this fashion for bling these days. In my day a padlock was as glittery as it got.

We have padlocks - swarovski of course.

What a bunch of fluffy fence huggers you all are!

My fence was old and saggy and wasn't up to the work I wanted it to do anymore so I rang up an ad that promised a good home to old fences - something about keeping it warm near an open fire or log burner the ad said, how kind to look after an old fence like that I thought. Anyway it loaded ok onto the truck that came to take it away and then a very nice young man brought me a lovely shiny new one. Its home bred as its parents live out in the woods on the farm still and he has matched it with some very nice shiny mesh stuff and everyone who sees it says how attractive it is.

Bet you are all jealous now eh?

PLEASE HELP!! My friend just bought a fence from a back street fence supplier and it's all gone wrong!

The fence has sap oozing from it's post knots and woodworm! It also has what looks like dry rot, but she refuses to isolate it from the other fences!

The vet has told her to use Cuprinol, but she won't do it as her alternative wood guru told her not to. She has said she might creosote it with some old stuff she has in the shed.

It's nasty too-got me with a rusty nail. The supplier won't take it back either!
