Bless his heart.
Thank goodness he found you. As difficult as the recent weeks have been, try and take comfort that if he hadn't found you, the ending may have been far more tragic and distressing for him, and probably others too.
His breeders should hang their heads.

Beautiful, beautiful boy. Although it was bad luck for you, he was his good fortune in finding you at the time when he most needed someone to care. You were his guardian angel.

It takes a true horse lover to do the right thing and you've proved to be exactly that today. I respect you for that and know how hard it must of been. Take care and don't be too hard on yourself. x

RIP gorgeous horse - OP hopefully you can take comfort knowing you did the only thing you could ((hugs))

You have handled the whole situation with such maturity and common sense - after you have had some time to collect yourself make sure you investigate the offer of the youngster - you deserve some happiness after going through this x

You did the right thing , you have been brave and responsible throughout .
This is kindest thing for sad horses like this one .
Poor lad the world is not fair .
Be kind to yourself .

You absolutely did the right thing. You gave moments of love and affection in his last days, then you gave him the gift of being free.

God bless you for it and big hugs. xxx
