Long range forecast is unsettled and changeable.

I really thought this year would be better as we rarely have 2 rotten years in a row.

We are in West Wales but not wet here at the moment it's blustery and not that warm but no where near as bad as forecast .Looks like it rained overnight.

We had unbelievably loud claps of thunder, lightening, gale force winds and torrential rain. We did need rain but not in such extremes. Weather looking better from end of the week ... at least I hope it is as I'm off to Exmoor with baggjns, a freind and her horse for the weekend 😀

We had thunder overnight, resulting in a snapped wooden fence post and a pony in the wrong field this morning where she'd run through the electric fencing. All fixed now but I'm so fed up, need to make hay also which is a worry in itself!!

We’ve had sunshine this morning 🫣 clouding over a bit now but I’m really hoping we don’t get the hideous weather coming our way as I’m hoping our local farmer is going to be able to roll one of our summer fields plus my daughter’s eventing tomorrow and she’s not had a dry event since the beginning of May 😩

Chilly, blustery with intervals of rain ... It feels like an Autumn day, not mid Summer :(

I didn't need the rain either, my EMS pony has been quite happy with the extra turn out in the big field out he's been allowed ams not his strip graze section with the grass not growing!

Finally got the last boggy corners of the Equicentral track harrowed today, about 3 months later than normal. These areas were very badly poached in the winter, and needed levelling. Tyre tracks left by 4x4, but at least it didn’t get bogged down. Will roll these corners sometime soon with the ballast roller.

Storm here last night and a fair bit of rain over the last week, interspersed with the occasional nice day. It does not feel like July at all.

I visited my uncle in hospital in Liverpool yesterday with my mum and it absolutely hammered down while we were there. Walking back to the car, all the roads were flooded and some idiot in a van flew through a puddle and soaked me 😅

The forecast for the next two weeks looks pretty much rain every day with the odd dry morning or afternoon. I’ve given up thinking we will get a proper summer. Summers have long gone and this is the new normal, sadly.

Starting to think we won't be getting a summer either now. Been relentless for days and forecast pretty much daily for the next two weeks. :(
I agree, unless August surprises us which it never does...

Oh well, am about to buy new turnout rugs for new horse...I best get the highest waterproof rating I can at this rate!
