My OH's biggest complaint about horse's isn't the time or the money but that the overall 'effect' isn't quite the same level of sexy as he was led to believe it would be by the adverts.

Apparently he really did think it would be more glamorous, more skintight breeches and less smelly coats, poo stained jogging bottoms and fishing hay out of bras ?

To be fair I do like to make sure my outfit is matchy, but if my hair is washed than everyone is in luck ? And honestly I’m a small person so me ever trying to look “sexy” would just be straight up embarrassing ?

if you’re a pro rider you have a good reason to be high fashion. You’re effortless darling!
Not me trudging around ?

I do absolutely live in Fairfax and Favor boots but I do confess their Instagram does sometimes make me chuckle...

Do you find them worth the money? I’ve got a substantial sum (well it needs to be having looked at the prices!) in a voucher for Christmas and was quite disappointed. Such a lot of money for fashion boots (I’m not into fashio)when I love my Ariat‘s or bareback equestrian that I can go to shops, days out, walk the dogs, ride and do jobs in, last well and keep my feet warm -multifunctional, so to me worth the money. Can’t bring myself to order any just yet!

Please can you come to the stables and yell this at me when I walk in, it’s just what I need to hear before I start yelling at the young horses to pack it in and reminding myself the answer is always inside leg to outside rein - I promise to return the favour ?

I’ve always fantasised about being one of those people who has a super smart wardrobe for riding. Unfortunately I am too tight to spend a fortune on clothing that inevitably gets covered in horse poo within minutes of me getting to the yard ?.
I dislike Holland Cooper for their weird body shaped models on their website. They look photoshopped. And I don’t agree with their stance on using fur in their collections.
My partner sent me this meme. Pretty accurate ?

Not exactly slip ons but www.tuffaboots.com do 3 different styles of steel toecap jodhpur boots, Brogani Forza are steel toe cap jodhpur boots but hard to get.
They are for work!
The reason I need slip ons is that we go to some pretty stinky places and I take my boots off when I get back in the wagon and drive in soft slip on shoes. It sounds very girly but we live in our wagons during the week and don't want crap in them.

Apologies for derailing the thread, but how do you get on with bareback equestrian? Look very tempting - how's the sizing and quality?

I love them. I completely abuse riding boots, rarely clean them etc. Bought in August I think and worn almost daily since. Quality is good. Sizing is fine - I’m a seven and ordered a 41 as wanted room for thick socks In the winter. They‘ve been really comfy straight away, no blisters or breaking in.They are waterproof and warm. I’d definitely recommend. Mine were £149 and were in the sale then (think from £169) but they were as low as £109 on Black Friday so may be worth seeing if they have a January sale.
I also bought some of their fashion boots in the sale too- look the same as fairfax and favor ones they are comfortable and well fitting too.

Thank you - I'm cautious about ordering online unseen, so appreciate the insight. Think i might be shopping soon!
