...Literally.
Some stupid woman and her teen daughter came to view V this morning. TBH I didn't like the look of them but gave them the benefit of the doubt as I have turned so many people down cause I didn't think they would be suitable.
First of all they asked if I would accept 6K for him, before actually seeing him, I said I would if they got on well with him.
I dragged the poor bugger in from the field, chucked his tack on and took him into the indoor scool.
I rode him for about 15 mins, he was a tad fresh but hasn;t been ridden for a week and, |I got him working long and low nicely. Did some lateral work and he was superb.
This teen then got on and walked off around the school, she wasn't very balanced or quiet ( which I stated he needed) but he was such a good boy and bumbled around in walk on both reins. I was so proud of him.
This girl then thumped him in is sides to send him into trot, no warning, a real thelwell type kick (you don't need much leg really) and scared him half to death.
He shot off at a fast trot and she proceeded to yank him in the mouth, this way and that, 10 metre circles (at a very fast trot, luckily he is very blanced)
I suggested that she slow him down and keep her hands still (puppet syndrome) and her mother said "her hands are fine and thats a good forward working trot"
She then tried to pull him accross the school (leg yield) at a hurried trot and the poor little guy, bless his heart, nearly fell over as he was trying so hard and she pony club kicked him again into canter.
His canter is his best pace but she made him go around practically in gallop and was pulling the hell out of his gob.
By this point I was boiling, I asked her if she could just come back to walk, then halt, which she did. I got hold of my poor little sweaty shaky man and asked her to get off saying I didn't think the rider was in anyway suitable.
The mother then said she didnt think he was suitable anyway and they just left without another word
I managed to hold back the tears until they had gone out of the yard, I am so mad and upset that someone could treat my horse like that.
Why can't someone nice come along and offer him a lovely home?
A very very upset Piaffe.
