Forecast actually looks half decent... dare we hope?

What's everyone got planned?

I have a lesson tomorrow and then the rest will depend on weather and what OH has planned. He may pick from:
fencing here
fencing at yard
improving track to field
lorry welding ?! (please!!) or a variety of other things that may be promoted above those longstanding chores :p
plus the usual poo picking etc.

It's Hera's birthday next week o_O Time really does fly.

Gardening, wedding admin and then my hen do Monday! Going to a spa with mum, sister and best friend. Got a pregnancy massage lined up which I am very excited for as my back has been agony. Then an afternoon tea! Very civilised.

Might give the pony a bit of a spa day if temp is warm on Saturday. She could do with a neaten up

Tonight I am off to combined training after work to try and cement how I need to ride on the grey pony. The bay pony is going xc schooling tomorrow to cement in her mind about xc. On saturday, bay pony goes eventing. Sunday, I was going to take grey pony Sjing but they have a 1m class and then 1.10m and I wanted 1m/1.05 so might hire somewhere and on Monday meeting up with horsey friends at a super place for lunch.

Nothing planned for charlie, and if I'm honest I'm a bit grumpy about it. I want to get out and practise on grass with studs and work on confidence building but my owner needs to do family stuff so I've no transport ?
I am however sheet collecting at somerford premier league in the afternoon
However, we'll make the most of the weather and get some hacking miles in at least.
Good luck to anyone out competing

Quiet one for me - lorry is still in for repairs, so can't get out showjumping like I'd hoped to. Might drag some of the yard showjumps out onto the big field on Sunday and recreate some on-grass showjumping instead!

May go over to Somerford Saturday afternoon to watch some Grand Prix. Will get out for a long-ish hack on Saturday morning.

Belsay 2* is next Thursday, so just hoping I get the lorry back in time....

Supposed to be at Petplans Saturday and then a wee additional bonus fun outing on Sunday... but Skye has a touch of gassy colic so we might be grounded.

Blimmin grass. Thought I was doing so well with her management too!

No horsey plans (boo), horse is still NQR with the foot bruising... Much better than he was, but not enough to come back to work. He is being reshod tomorrow, hopefully with normal shoes now the defect has grown out enough and then I will give him another week off and get back on next weekend to be sure.
So I am planning to clean my car instead on Saturday, needs doing tbh and then off to my parents on Sunday for a birthday BBQ for my sister, looks like we will have the weather for it at least!!

Sorry about the sick notes Jenni_ and AandK :( Have fun everyone else, whether it's horsing around or gardening! The sun makes such a difference.

We had a lesson last night and Danny seemed to think he was on holiday still after his couple of weeks of hacking while I was injured. Once he remembered about self-carriage he did some lovely trot work.

The in-laws are here this weekend but they're very self-sufficient so hopefully that won't impact riding time too much ;) Hacking tomorrow, maybe pop in the school on Saturday. Monday / Tuesday we're back at AMD and I've told my trainer that I need to learn EVERYTHING in the next two months before Danny's sold - I want to be able to apply it all to Chilli ?

I'm going xc schooling with the ginger drama queen twice, the second time with her owner so we can make some decisions about her future. She's a capable horse with plenty enough ability for what I want to do, but her brain is just so inconsistent. It's frustrating.
The 4yr olds will bumble about, I might loose jump them tonight before I move them back home as that will be the last opportunity until the Autumn. And going out out with friends on Monday.

Katie is back on board. Dolly had lost a bit of form and fitness along with gaining a grass belly! But she's muzzled now and was flying this morning. SJ lesson Saturday. XC somewhere hopefully Sunday if I can find a good venue that's open. Good luck everyone out competing. Get well soon, all the sick notes.

I'm doing pairs XC with my sister at the grand height of 70cm. We've had horses together over 10 years and this is the first time we've done XC as a pair together! Weathet should be lovely and half looking forward to it. Will be fine as long as I dont end up behind at which point steering and brakes fail.

Lesson Sunday morning and popping over to see a friend afterwards with a view to going over to hers as a trip out for Amber and a lesson the following week. :)
It's not been the easiest of weeks but last night lesson confirmed that I am doing the right thing and riding the right way, I've just got to stick with it for now and we'll come through it.
I should actually be really happy that we're walk/jog/lope in the outdoor now, which I couldn't do 2 weeks ago :)

I knew I was lying to myself when I kept saying 'I'll definitely school this week' so I booked a lesson ? I enjoy it once I'm schooling and have something to work on but otherwise hacking wins every time ? The other days, lots of hacking.

I should probably groom him more thoroughly than I have all week (maybe even bath), given we hacked our with actual leaves & twigs from the hedge in his mane & tail this morning ...

Non horsey plans include a BBQ with friends and a family meal if the weather holds enough for two lots of garden eating and socialising ?

This BH weekend seems to have snuck up on me. I did have xc booked on Saturday but that’s been overtaken by COLLECTING A NEW HORSE ?.

Due to me being geographically challenged, it will probably be a 7-8 hour round trip (I didn’t realise how far north it was when I enquired!). I’ll do a proper update assuming it all goes well, inc after my little stress (another post) about how to pay for said horse!

No other plans as a result other than playing with both ponies at the yard and getting the new one settled. Hoping one of my saddles will work until I can get a saddler out. And veering between excited and nervous about all the ‘firsts’ that a new horse involves...

IMG-20210527-WA0005.jpgAnother eventing outing with the Bobster at Houghton! Slightly fraught preparation for the test as had missed the no doubles for 3* rule change, but borrowed a lovely being bridle n nathe bit from a super lovely lady who had just finished her test! And he went really quite well for a seasons best score of 37.3! Chill day tomorrow with some course walking.

And after all the rain I've managed to get burnt already!

Taking baby Welshie and small child to cross country for the first time on Monday as a local course has an eventers challenge with a 30cm mini class on, and they‘ve finally got some confidence together in jumping. Otherwise it’s dressage tests tomorrow/Saturday for this month’s virtual competition and a lesson on Sunday for them, fixing fences, de-ragworting and sorting out the kit for Monday for me! They've had a busy couple of weeks, so this is a quiet one really ?

M is coming on well after his bad cut a few weeks ago. There is still a bit of proud flesh so keeping things relatively simple so he doesnt knock it but it's looking a lot better.

Will do some in-hand work tomorrow then hopefully hack both days at the weekend as long as there are not too many tractors and huge grass trailers about, it's been mad the last few days. Wanted to hack this evening but far too many tractors so had a bit of a play in the field instead
