let's go with your second sentence then:

I'm sure they have to have an NVQ in being thick to get in the force, lets face it, any body with intelligence isn't going to go in the force to start with'
[/ QUOTE ]
are you saying that those members of HHO who happen to be in the force have no intelligence?
[/ QUOTE ]
Dont know, I havent met them that I know of, but unfortunately going by the percentage of the ones I have, about 90% of them must have, so things dont look too good.
Lets look at this from a logical veiw, most people who become Doctors want to heal people, most people who become Paramedics want to save people, most people who become nurses want to help people, people who become traffic wardens, security gaurds, police, baliffs, prison officers, wheel clampers must enjoy confrontation and control over people, why else would you want to do it, certainly not for the money.
[/ QUOTE ]
My OH who is a police officer has over 17 years exp and is a specalist in sexual offences and dealing with rape victims and now sex offenders. He has been called out to deal with a serious sexual assault, when he comes home I will ask him about his motivation to join and stay in the police and if he is enjoys confrontation and control. Being ex job myself those 2 things didn't relate. to me in any way.
[/ QUOTE ]
Very good, still doesn't seem to miracuously make all my encounters with "those in the job" suddenly positive when they have 9 times out of 10 been negative, seems strange to "me" that a male would be dealing with rape victims, if I was a female rape victim the last person I would want to be interviewed by would be a male officer
