Winds were pretty strong here first thing in the morning. Trying to sort out fencing for the horses with strong gusts wasn't easy. They have hedges but also a strip grazing/track type system which had blown down this morning, did a sort of dodgy repair before work and will see what it's like later!

More widely, there are lots of flooded roads, trees down and powercuts around here. Until last year, I was much more on the coast, and I think it doesn't seem quite as bad inland?

I got down to Exeter for the meeting this morning without any problem, the M5 was as busy as usual. There were some big puddles on some of the smaller roads but nothing big enough to cause a problem. Fortunately for the part of Devon I was in the storm wasn't as bad as forecast. My parents live on the south coast in Devon and had one tree down in their village but amazingly escaped any flooding, although there was an issue on the main road just outside the village. Thank you to everyone on here who gave good advice yesterday though.

Poor Jersey and the channel islands seem to have got the worst of it (and some parts of the couth coast) so far, I really feel for the people whose windows and rooves have been destroyed. I hope that they get some dry weather soon to give them a chance to carry out the huge amount of repairs it looks like some of them will need.

Raining on and off still this evening, a lot of the lanes are flooded or close to being flooded. The yellow warning for rain doesn't actually disappear until midnight, which is not especially encouraging.

Best wishes to all struggling with power outages etc.

I saw a met office video a few days ago which explained that because of the behaviour of the storm, it was harder than usual to predict exactly where it would go. They suggested either the south coast or the channel islands would get the worst of it. I'm very sorry for those in the channel islands who have been hit, but also slightly grateful if we have escaped the worst.

Plenty of rain overnight and throughout the day, a fair bit of localised flooding but the roads I've needed have not too bad.

Fields are fairly lake like and was running onto the yard but had receeded by tonight.

Windy here again but hoping the wind will help dry some of the ground.

In-laws are on the South coast and I think feel it could have been a lot worse, so we're all relieved.

I think we’ve got off lightly this time here in Lincolnshire. It rained heavily last night and is again tonight but apart from a few showers it has been dry today. Wind picked up a bit this afternoon but not that bad - I went hacking!

Debi looking like the worst storm yet.

Hope all our Irish HHO'ers are OK. Looks very bad there.

It's blowing an absolute gale here and I've already nearly been blown over going down the slope to the yard. Gusts of up to 60mph here forecast for this afternoon.

Take care everyone.
After the rain overnight it actually was lovely for a few hours today, now blowing a gale, nearly got blown over along with my trolley at Morrison's 😮

Debi really started whipping up strong here about 3am-5am - i was up and awake thinking what the hell…..find the forecast updated with red triangles everywhere and over 100kmph gusts!
There’s some clearing-up to do, roof off the hay shelter, branches dropped….yet to check wider vicinity… im west coast, the winds had me that concerned i silently prayed on this exposed hill to remain safe! 🙏🤞

Horses at 4am- unphased by crazy wind asking “got any treats?” 😄
Theyre definitely wind de-sensitised, it amazes me.

It’s totally calm now.

Was anyone else hit by the storm last night?

We had the strongest winds I've ever experienced here, gusting between 75 and 80mph. Forecast was up to 55mph!

Our wooden gates at the side of the house were ripped off. Thankfully Mr SC thinks they are repairable.

The council installed new speed signs on the road below us last month and they've all blown over! 🤦‍♀️

Hope everyone else is OK.

It was wild here! Even in our relatively sheltered yard, I was blown around when we were feeding the horses. Fortunately their shelter did its job well but we have bits of wood lying around the yard, this morning.
It wasn't the windiest I've ever known though.

I've only lived here for 6 years and everyone says I haven't experienced proper weather yet! 😬

Glad you are all OK.
