Here in North Kent we had howling wind, sheets of torrential rain and violently swaying barge. Large leak in headlining to the right of my bunk, with a plasterer's oblong bucket, lined with newspapers to catch the drips. Not a jolly night. Madam Carrie Cat was wedged in next to me and slept the sleep of the just fed Fat Cat.
Old Horse in his usual 5* accommodation, wooden stable in the courtyard with the back window shut, lightweight rain sheet on, deep straw bed, supper and extra-large haynet. YO or Head Groom will let me know if he's not OK later this morning.

now at 6am there is no rain and the trees are barely blowing. Hopefully that is it or at least the rest will be in daylight.
The quiet centre of the storm now has a pressure of 954 situated over the New Forest. You should start getting wind from the North soon.

Nothing here. It was windy in the night, but not enough to blow the wheelie bins over. Apparently the eye is going over and it’s going to start again shortly.

This is the met office forecast for gusts for later

The noise of the wind woke me at 03h00, but it wasn't too bad and I went back to sleep.

The forecast was for winds of around 35kph through today.

I walked to the railway station in town; plenty of twigs and very small branches (mostly about the diameter of my thumb) on the footpaths, nothing on the road. One young tree, planted last year, broken at about my knee height.

At the station, an A3 sheet on the door announces that there will be no trains this morning on that line. No damage reported, but out of caution there's no service.

The wind is getting stronger by the hour, now about 40kph, but forecast to drop steadily through the day until 24kph at 18h00.

I've not found a way to get observed data from Météo France.

All very normal where I am in Dorset. Flooding in the usual places that happens with any bit of heavy rain, lots of leaves & twigs on the ground. A couple of wheelie bins blown over. Some of the reports from France & Jersey look horrendous!

absolutely spot on. By 7am wind had increased and now is very windy and fair amount of rain. Presumably we are now in the 2nd half of it.

horses had no problems overnight, they just lay down from the shavings on all of them and snoozed.

Wet overnight here in the midlands, no real wind and still very calm this morning. I don't think we are due to get much till later afternoon. Good luck to all of you who are getting battered. Our barometer is the lowest I have ever seen it too.

Northumberland reporting.

V calm night no rain

Raining now but not particularly hard. Breezy. Suspect coast will be worse as large swell predicted. Looks like it might get windier for a bit later.

Hope everyone else survived and not too much damage done.

Now taking bets on how far down the alphabet we go on Storm names this winter. 🙄

Where abouts in west Wales are you? I'm also west Wales, and it was lashing it down and pretty gusty last night. Rain has stopped now, but still a few gusts.
About 4 miles from Aberporth. Just got back from a quick walk with the dogs. Very little rain but windy as hell on the coast. Where are you??IMG_4404.jpeg

Anyone else South Central surprised at how still it is?! Is it meant to get worse?

It is, but warning has been downgraded,
so possibly not as windy as last night.

I can’t help thinking they over estimated the effect here, not wishing to repeat the mistakes of 1987, although poor Jersey seems to have taken a battering.

All the trees around here are still green and it full leaf. I was expecting carnage.
We have the tree surgeons coming on Monday to pollard all the trees near the stables. Typical lousy timing!

I think it tracked a little further south and France has taken the worst of it.

Getting windier here and constant rain. Nothing untoward so far but miserable. We are supposed to have our worst early this afternoon.
F will be in his stable until just before dark when the storm will have passed our area but I may not be able to travel to him tomorrow if the river floods at the bridge when the water comes down from Wales

Normal autumn day here, windy and some rain, much like pretty much every autumn before we started naming storms.
When did we start naming storms? And OH and I were also trying to work our when red, Amber, yellow weather warnings started too....🤔
