What is the site like now DL?

When I was there 2 years ago it was still a building site.

DL - I read a book about the World Trade Centre, it was all witness accounts etc, very harrowing!!

DL I have a book thats fantastic on it, never thought I'd read it but its very informative etc.. might not be your thing its called 102 minutes by Jim Dwyer and Kevin Flynn. I thought it was brilliant but might just be me

haha slinky, well i'm going to sensible (boring I know!) and put it towards my savings for Ted, or buy a different horse! Ted's on loan to me, and I may or may not buy him yet - my heart tells me to, but he's not really what i'm after which is sucky cos i'd love to have him for life as he's such a sweety!

Oh DL, turn it off! I always blubber at it... I'm watching channel 4.. the teenager who sailed the world by himself!

It's very much a building site still! They've started building the "one world trade center," and have the initial steel footings made. Really it is harrowing

We stood there for a long time and I could've probably stayed put all day
frown.gif
We went to the museum with the artefacts etc and saw some of the glass from the top floors, bits of the plane etc
frown.gif

We bought a huge book but I've got no idea what its called
blush.gif

Um no it was one quite along from it actually, 10th avenue or something
blush.gif
It was in a little appartment and it was the photographs that were released the year afterwards from the man who did the recovery processes. I forget his name but it was only small. Still packed a punch though!
frown.gif

I had no idea all the poor dogs died!

It was right across from the site next to the discount designer shop - I felt that I had a duty to go and pay my respects, very sad but what you say is very true Slinks x

I haven't seen the World Trade Centre memorial, but, I 'm sure it is very sad
frown.gif

However, I have seen the war memorials and they are just devastating. The saddest thing is, those people knew they were giving their lives up, for everyone's future...I cry every rememberance Sunday when they show it on the television

Now, cruelty to hamsters!! My laptop has sped up a bit, but I've changed the hamster, and retired it to a nice seaside retirement home, and brought in a filthy rat, who I will beat if it doesn't get a move on!!!

Hello all
Well to change the subject from a somber note, I made it to the hospital despite the fireworks diplays. She is TIIIIINY. She's in a premature size babygrow and still only fills half of it!

It's strange, my sis and I aren't particularly close, we've never fallen out but we just don't have much in common, but I adore this little one from one ten minute meeting. I could only stay 10 minutes as I am on call and had no mobile signal but I could have stayed there for hours. To top it off, I haven't had a call all night so could have stayed longer.

Had almost the full story (I stopped her at the stitches!) She was only in labour proper 20 minutes! They induced her and after 24 hours of back pain but nothing else it happened very quickly. They had just thrown her OH out for the night as she wasn't showing any signs of going in to labour and had to get him to turn around. He only made it in time for the stitches, threw up and then nearly fainted!

Evening all - didnt get back from stables until half 8 then had lovely bath!! am knackered

Stables put jackets and chilli on for us so was lush! Most of the horses did bat an eye lid at the fireworks but one of ours was getting a bit worked up poor girly - she was calmer by the time I left. Hope everyones ok! xx

Are you right handed? Only ask, because, if you spend a lot of time on the PC it might be a bit of RSI, be very careful, if it starts to get painful, go and see the doctor.

AA - Lol at the OH, mine nearly had to have my gas and air!!

I was disgusted, as I was enjoying that bit!!

Glad Mum and baby are doing well, it's a shock when they are so little!

DL it does sound like you have trapped a nerve or something - maybe from being scrunched up on the plane?
confused.gif

AA - I used to go to the SCBU units for work and could never get over just how tiny the babies were - and at 3lbs your neice is one of the bigger ones!!

Aw annagain that is fabulous - is it your first niece - when my wee brothers wife had her baby in May I couldn't believe how much I totaly loved her!
smile.gif

D_L sounds like a trapped nerve for sure - can ou try massage it with your other hand?

I didn't let her go into too much detail, not planning on doing it myself but would still rather not know about it!

DL - even though you've had a few sleeps now could it be tiredness? I get a twitchy leg when I haven't had enough sleep.

Right off to bed now, have to be up at 6 and only got about 4 hours last night so want plenty of sleep tonight.
