Very worried ... youngster in Horspital

So very sorry for your loss. My friends recently rescued one from total neglect only to loose her 6 months later to colic. There is sometimes no 'fair' in this world. Cherish the good time xxx

Am so very sorry. To lose any horse is sad but to loose a youngster is tragic. We lost one about 18 months ago as a foal, heartbreaking.

Sending hugs to all concerned.

So sorry to read it was grass sickness, I lost the grey in my pic to it 18months ago at four years old, terrible that all of us who love our horses to bits, care for them and love them .. end up losing them to grass sickness. Hopefully the trial vaccine and research will give us all answers sooner rather than later. x

So sorry for your loss. It is so hard but even harder when they are so young.
I hope you can see that you were not to blame, sometimes tragedy strikes for no reason
Thinking of you

So sorry, what a wretched thing to happen :-(

I don't often post on 'I've lost him' threads but grass sickness is such a wicked disease anyway and even worse because it targets the young. To lose him at this time, just as he was about to start real work and bless your retirement is just so cruel. So sorry.

I hope he is well soon, how worrying for you! Please let us all know how he does xxx

He couldn't be saved unfortunately. No fault of anyone...EGS is an issue that we simply don't know enough about yet and can strike at any time it seems. Just a total tragedy :(

So sorry to hear this outcome. There's no words really. I've lost two in two years and it's going to hurt like hell for a long time. You are with friends here who will understand when others think you should have got over it.

It's the most horrific disease. Not something people often understand until you've lived the nightmare of it.

So sorry Tobiano, how devasting. Sometimes its so hard to accept that these things are totally out of our control. Look after yourself x

This is tragic, am so sorry tobiano. Try not to torture yourself with "what ifs". You can't change what has happened and all it will do is make it harder for you to accept and grieve. Hugs.

I am so, so sorry.
It is hard whenever you lose a horse but when they are young it is even harder.
Except with very rare exceptions, owners make their decisions about the day-to-day care of their horses in what they perceive to be the horse's best interests, which is all any-one can expect of us. Sometimes those decisions turn out to be the wrong ones, made for the best of reasons and sometimes things go wrong for no particular reason that any-one can pinpoint.

No-one knows why your horse got EGS but we do know that the reason was nothing that you did.

Look after yourself and know that you gave him a lovely life.

Oh no. I am so very sorry Tobiano. It is the hardest thing to lose a young horse to this and such a shock.
Thinking of you. xx
