Vibes for little Jessie please

Thank you Dopeydapple for asking. Well unfortunately she isn't out of the woods yet. she has been back in again yesterday and again today. she is home now with a 4 day lasting steroid injection in her and an anti sickness jab. (She is now vomiting unfortunately). She has eaten a little of the soft food but it seems to come up again within a couple of hours of what ever we manage to get down her.

She is booked to go in all day Monday for more bloods that are to be sent somewhere else for further tests to the ones she has already had, xrays, possibly scans and whatever else they might find or think to investigate further. The vet has just phoned in if she deteriorates over night they will bring everything forward and have her in and do everything tomorrow instead.

Spleen tumours have been mentioned, but apparently she isn't quite typical for that but they are thinking it is possible. The vet has been fantastic I have to say and very honest, as she said, they simply do not know at this stage what is wrong with her so it is a guarded outlook at the moment. :( The other dog is now in deep depression, she just cannot understand what is going on and just lays by Jessie's side most of the time when Jess is home, moaning and muttering. We are trying to distract her with games and things but she just isn't interested sadly.

So please keep the vibes coming, we are hoping for the best but ready for bad news tomorrow or Monday.

I'm so sorry she's not yet better.
About 3 years ago Ruby did something similar. Vomiting drooling and oddly unwell. They thought she had a blockage and did scans which showed a dilated stomach and bowel but when a laparotomy was done no blockage customs of old food and a paralysed gut.
She was in for 4 days and sent home when she was able to keep water down. She didn't eat for about another 3 days. She was on meds for a couple of .months but came right and so far no recurrence. No cause was found. Her bloods were all reasonably normal.
I thought I'd lose her so don't give up hope yet xxx fi gers crossed for Jessie xx

I am so sorry to see that Jessie isn't yet back to herself.
When we took our 6 yr old Rott to the vet after a night awake with her in obvious pain, although she had improved by the time we could ring for an appointment, Vet felt her abdomen, called a colleague for a 2nd opinion, told us that they suspected a splenetic tumour and did an ultrasound scan immediately.
Sadly they were right and although they tried, it proved to have spread and to be inoperable. Fingers crossed that if the vet hasn't felt anything, her issue isn't the same.

Every vibe I can muster is yours and Jessie's, MrsJ.

Thank you again for the good vibes. Vet nurse rang at lunch time to see should we bring her in or wait until Monday. After a bit of discussion we agreed to leave it until Monday now. They could not do scans today anyway and could only test the bloods there in the surgery again today and my vet does want these ones sent off elsewhere.

She managed a small bit of minced chicken this morning, and a tiny bit again just now. Still very down and sleeping most of the time, but she has been out for a wee. she only kept half a paracetamol down this morning but better than nothing. My son is going to give her the night time dose as he has the knack of getting it down her without distressing her too much. Hopefully she will keep it down. Not got enough water down her today but hopefully she will have another good glug before bedtime.

Jem would make a wonderful caring nurse if it wasn't for the fact the moment she sees Jessie is refusing a treat she nudges her head to one side and pinches it, it disappears in a nano second. But give her credit she does sit patiently to give us enough time to be sure Jessie isn't going to eat it. You have to love a Labrador, even a very greedy one. 😊 Here's a pic of the terrible two on a happier day. Little Jess on the right and bigger lump Jem on the left.

Could you syringe water into her mouth? I did that with my old collie after she’d had a vestibular attack and she didn’t spit it out
Yes Mr. J got some down her earlier, but not much at all as she brought it back up with a lot of drool within minutes. My son is going to try later, we want to leave her be for a couple of hours hoping the chicken will stay down by then. 🤞
