So sorry to read the latest update when things were looking brighter before. At least she is in the right place and they can hopefully get her comfortable and get to the bottom of this. Sending massive positive vibes to Jessie and a hug to you and family.
Sending many more vibes for Jessie, including special Black Labrador vibes from Purdey dog.
She did a similar thing when she was critically ill in hospital last year.
She recovered and was on the discharge list, then had a bit of a relapse as we arrived to collect her.
An anxious 24 hours later we collected her.
Everything crossed that Jessie is following the same pattern.
Unfortunately she has been very poorly indeed but they are still hopeful but sadly we are not too optimistic now. After another steroid injection, antiemetic , meds for her stomach and oesophagus and continuing antibiotics she still is not eating although her temperature has come down, but this is the third time since she became ill on Tuesday 1st that this pattern has set in. Seems to perk up for a couple of days after injections, temp goes down, nibbles at a little food then as the steroid gets out of her system she goes downhill again, but each time a little worse than before. They are now giving her nutrients through a nose tube but still offering a small feed every four hours. Yesterday evening she took a few teaspoonfuls but that was it.
We have decided to go and see her tomorrow, we were concerned about upsetting her by visiting and then leaving her again but at this stage we would like to try and hand feed her ourselves and see if she is any better. They still have not had results of biopsies but they are expected in the morning. We are going to go every day now until a decision is made one way or another that she either comes home, even if it is only to have a day or so with us all and getting our local vet to PTS at home, or by some miracle they actually find out what exactly is wrong and there is a clear treatment plan for her.
Will update when we know anything more, hopefully when we see her tomorrow. We are taking all her favourite things, roast chicken and also some blue berries if they will let her have them (her favourite treats) and also her favourite scruffy old octopus toy that sleeps in her bed with her. Really sad for her and for Jem who is now very depressed.
I am so sad to read this, she looks such a lovely dog. It just isn't fair. Keeping everything crossed that she turns a corner in the right direction soon.
So sorry MrsJ, hope she perks up when you visit, it might make it easier to make a decision once you have been. Lots more good vibes coming your way xx
