Been sitting on my hands for a bit but I'm SOOOO fed up of the task I've got at work, I can't wait any longer!

What are we all up to?

Kira has Ele silver regionals at Mount Ballan tomorrow, we're on early which means we can do the arena walk for once, so I'm hoping she might be a bit less tight than usual when it comes to her test... A girl can dream.
She went to a local arena yesterday to run through the test - it was raining sideways most of the time but she made a good effort so we've done all we can.

^^fly veil-come-umbrella was very handy!

Might take Millie for a CONTROLLED canter on the stubble on the weekend, she's feeling like the cobwebs need blowing away and the ground is about as good as it gets here at the moment. And then yard ponies to ride Sat/Sun.. and lesson on Tuesday :) Pedal to the metal, as usual :p

Have fun all, hope the weather settles down a bit

Ooo me, me I have more plans!

Skylla is going out to try and get our Q for the Midway champs on Sunday, *not left it to the last minute at all* :eek3:...

Topaz is continuing bootcamp, but I think it's working as I think she looks slimmer?

Super good luck, I think Kira is going to rock it tomorrow :)

Good luck! I always read these posts with interest and never comment as I don't do anything other than unaffiliated show jumping and showing shows! Our weekend came early with a trip to the clear round evening yesterday to build on the success of last weeks 60cm round, we did 70cm including fillers! Lesson tonight where we are going to attempt to focus on my shocking lower leg position and also rhythm! This weekend we are going to have a little run on the stubbles too before Toby gets a week off while we go to Equifest! Big fan on the fly veil come umbrella, they come in handy! Photo from last weekend :)

After a month of playing happy families I'm back out competing on Saturday - yay! Heading to Sparsholt with Pocholo for N23 (to prep for our Area Festival at the same venue at the end of the month) and E40 (which looks simpler than the high end Novice tests...famous last words!!). My lift has had to pull out so I'm borrowing YO's car and trailer, which means YO has to sit in my Mini all day to do dressage judging. Have I ever mentioned that I have the best YO ever?!

Indio is feeling very well after 6 weeks back in work. I'll be doing some more hacking and some gentle arena work with him...although having said that I planned a gentle 20 minutes in the arena on Monday and he had other ideas. He's never been so naughty and I'm fairly sure that spins on his back legs and 30 metres of rein-back (repeatedly) are not part of our rehab plan at the moment! Apparently spotting goats' legs under a hedge line is terrifying.

Good luck at Regionals MP, and with Skylla AH and well done on the jumping emfen!

:eek3::eek3::eek3: were there goats' bodies attached to the legs or were they just zombie legs?! :eek3::blue:

Definitely zombie legs if you asked Indio. The fact that he walks past the goats to and from his field every day meant nothing :P

Toby sat down when he spotted the stone goose statue had been moved approx 50cm right of its usual position next to the arena fence. 2 and a half years he's been walking past it, maybe this zombie infection is spreading to the north and he's trying to warn me!!

Maybe that's what it is!! The zombie apocalypse is here but only horses have noticed it :D

I don't normally post on these as we are only dabbling in the low levels competition wise but here goes...
tomorrow going to do some raised pole work to get him using is back end, and running through our tests
hacking on Saturday with a couple of other liveries
then on Sunday we are off to Cholderton to do P14 and N24 in My Quest. We are a little late to the party on this one but am seeing if I can qualify for the Regional Finals. (When I say late - when we started there were 6 comps left to get our 5 scores, so nothing like leaving it to the last minute. Sunday will be our 4th outing)

have a fun weekend everyone

Ooh I'm joining in for the first time in ages!

I'm taking my new 4yo to a local (5 mins in the trailer) show to do an intro dressage, and maybe trot over some crosspoles. Only had her 2 weeks, but she's been out a bit before so want to keep up the momentum!

Oh good luck everyone for champs, getting qualifying scores (bit of healthy pressure never did any harm), jumping/dressagey fun and baby momentum.

Not got much planned this weekend, my knee is decidedly bust at the moment which is good for the humour of witnesses to me climbing the stairs to my third floor office but not much good for riding ability. Will go out to do an arena hire either Sat or Sun, but whether it's jumps or flatwork depends on the aforementioned knee

I will be getting ready for Equifest next week yay so packing, prepping pony and hopefully in between all that riding so that we don't make fools of ourselves next week :D

Pah, our plan to try and beat our jumping demons is not going well. Lorry is bust and unlikely to be back by the weekend. So missed out on Keysoe xc yesterday (but secretly relieved as it was feeling a bit much after camp and a ODE event there last week) but also possibly missing out on Munstead xc this Saturday too (which I'd paid for). Bu&&eration.

Wobbleberry Challenge looking increasingly likely that it will be deferred until 2018 which I'm blue about, unless we can turn a corner pretty quickly. In the meantime, I'll pop some poles at home instead and see how we go. Flatwork lesson tonight.

I never post on this thread because I don't want anyone to know what we are doing, in case we fail :D But tonight I shall admit...... flatwork lesson on Saturday with a rather special trainer who has done so much for our/Jensen's way of going then a hunter trial on Sunday to pursue our aim of maximum exposure to XC courses..... excited :) :)

We had a similar situation the other day when the bird house at the end of the school, fell off of its 'perch' last week and was just on the floor next to it. Ruby had a complete fit to the point where i couldn't get within 20m of that end of the school - this horse is so chilled and non-spooky its rediculous so this whole thing was completely hilarious, in the end i had to get someone to come and lead me round! :D

This weekend I do not have much going on, yard work tomorrow AM and PM, running through a couple of tests for someone competing Sunday and a couple to ride.

Sunday i had left most of the day clear for HGV Theory revision but, when I called on Wednesday to see if they had any cancellations they managed to get me into one yesterday - last minute rush but thankfully passed so dont need to do that again! So to celebrate, going to take Ruby XC schooling at Tweseldown and will go and warm friend up at her dressage in the morning!

I am off out to our first SJ competition tomorrow at Wellington. Aiming just to keep the confidence up and trot round the 70cm and then also entered for the 80cm to see how we get on. She's been jumping really sweetly at home so I am trying to think positive that a new venue isn't going to blow her mind!

Unfortunately my boy is out of action now for a long while, so no ridden activities!

But instead I am working at countryfile live tomorrow, then fence judging at the riding club championships at Swalcliffe on Sunday! Quite looking forward to Sunday, eventing fix even though my event pony is off games! :D :D

Heading to Chilham tomorrow morning for some XC schooling. The BE courses should still be flagged so going to attempt some of the 80 fences in prep for the ODE in September.

Had a jump lesson yesterday evening in the wind (on grass), only had one stop into a spread slightly downhill as I dropped my hands one stride away... need to work out how to keep them up!! So fingers crossed I'll work that out before tomorrow haha.

Sunday a quiet day for B, will probably lunge him. Grooming for a friend who has qualified for some sort of championship at Pyecombe, so that will be fun :)

Hope everyone has fun and best of luck to all competing!

This evening I’m just having a quick hack around the block with two friends from the yard before we head to our local for ‘Fizz Friday’. Thankfully, it’s a proper old man country pub who turn a complete blind eye to breeches :D

Saturday morning, I’m hacking to and hiring nearby arena to school and run through a prelim dressage test. Just staying on, would be considered a great achievement as although my horse is 12, he’s not been out and about a huge amount …! Saturday afternoon will be a mix of an afternoon out with the OH and yard chores in the evening.

Sunday, I’m up stupidly early to sort out my horse before going off to Gatcombe to spectate at the Festival of Eventing.

Hope we all have a good weekend, whatever we are up to :)

Not our day today, usually I can find the positives but struggling a bit at the moment :D:o Mainly scuppered by other competitors in the warm up who were wearing headsets to receive instructions from their trainers... and were giving 100% of their concentration to that
Kira's not a big horse, granted, but she is big enough to see even from the dizzy heights of a 16hh horse's back... so it would be nice if we could all adhere to the left-to-left and don't walk on the track rules that make these things run swimmingly...

Tried to say something but the one who was really causing me grief didn't even hear me talking to her  So a really really difficult warm up... leading to what felt like a sweet enough test with one blip when she got a bug up her nose into a simple change :D :D

Never mind, we beat the woman who tried to knobble us so that's all that matters, right?! And that's the last yucky elementary test we'll have to do (unless we do the ele class at native champs :p )

Oh I know what the positive is, I got home by midday so only had to take a half day off work. And kira got on and off the box about 5 times without even thinking about being sticky when loading, so I reckon that particular demon is beaten :wink3:

Onwards! Now planning to stay overnight at beacons for her AM area festival next week because I think she might be more relaxed (and relaxed = forward with Kira). But first, there's some stubble fields to enjoy :D

Grrrr at the other competitors!! It's not as if there's a shortage of warm up space at MB either :( What a shame, but at least you beat the worst offender!

Embo - enjoy the xc schooling!

MM - we have one of those pubs too. Love the fact I can go along in breeches and stinking of horse and no-one cares ;)

No there's not, but at these bigger shows they tend to allocate a warm up to a test arena, so you can't move about... but yes, it did take the edge off my irritation when I saw the score board :D lol!

Tomorrow just a schooling session at home and then Sunday heading to a local charity show to do veteran in hand (no ridden veteran so trying my first ever in hand class!) and the 80-85cm jumping.

Have fun all! :smile3:

Am doing my first ever ridden showing class at a local show. Gets Indie out and about as she hasnt done much. Am sure I will be a nervous wreck on Sunday x

I am also fence judging at Swalcliffe on Sunday, will be cheering on our fellow Crownies.

Cross country schooling on Sunday if the ground holds up

Hacking out with Daisy's new owner (yep I did! :( ) for the 4th time. Hoping she doesn't fall off again (Daisy innocent she was stationary at the time!).

Idly window shopping big jumping type cobs for sale as well probably... one out and all that.

Oh no! What's ailing him?

That's a bit pants MP, at least you beat the main idiot, and you didn't even have to have a silly ear thing :p
