Super reports all round!
We had a very busy weekend - went to dressage on Saturday and did two prelim tests. Our first dressage for a year and a half. 66.3% in 17 and 69.6% in 15 which is a personal best and enough to get us second place in a big, strong class of 12!
The yesterday, showing! We did 3 classes and got a first, a second, a fifth and unplaced. It was a great day despite there being a certain amount of eye rolls in the judges direction in the last class ? But the boy behaved absolutely amazingly all day, was a beautiful ride and I am beyond proud of how far he has come ?

I’d love to share photos but can’t figure it out on my phone!

I haven't watched them all but the birs I saw look great! Supercob!! I do like Haygrazer e- riders.
Thank you.
I've enjoyed both, I switched to dressage anywhere when haygrazer were looking to just run their own tests as I didn't find they flowed well for us. Luckily for me I'd qualified for their summer champs by then but because I'd only done a few I'm still in the restricted section.
They're much of a muchness, you haven't missed much if you skim through lol. I don't particularly expect anyone to scrutinise every minute but I figure it might help or inspire someone a bit if they see us chugging away at it.

Just glad I got them done last night, had so many busy weekends, then sunday piddled down when we were going to do them, leaving me this week or nothing, and just look at today - need a snorkel!

I organise an E-rider clinics once a month - my kids record and call the tests and I upload them for people. We we have a trainer who warms us up and runs through the test once then we go in an do it. My test date this month is Friday - cutting it VERY fine!!

I've had to withdraw from Eland ODE :( box needs "more than 2 days" worth of welding so it won't be MOT'd in time. Very annoyed as I specifically gave myself two weeks to get it sorted so I could go...the garage just haven't had time to do it and apparently the rust is pretty bad (but not un fixable).
Big cost, lost the entry fee cost, will have to pay for a full MOT again - not particularly impressed TBH and having a grump about it really.

I'm so gutted, the world always seems to be against me when I try and event! I hate being at the mercy of the garage, i need to learn to weld or something. Ah well. Always next time...

Whereabouts are you based? Bold are doing arena one days in September. I know it's not the same but it's something.

I'm south Notts so I think Bold is a bit far. Newbold Verdon has an eventer challenge on the 12th Sept I might try for (box dependent) and there's also hunter trials at Eland at the end of Sept - which my friend is desperate to do the pairs at. I was going to use the 70 ODE as a practice but looks like I might just have to throw myself into the 80 pairs! I should be able to go for a course hire at some point as well and have a try at the 80 jumps.

My brain doesn't work to that logic, i know it's 10cm but it may as well be 50 ha ha! Honestly I know i'll be fine, I can do it, Buzz can do it, i'm just a wuss :D

Just had an email from Eland and they've managed to replace me so I can get a refund, finally some good news :)

Lots of the 70s are also 80 jumps, so you've already done some ?
I know exactly what you mean, 10cm might as well be 10m sometimes

It's better than that, i've jumped all of the 80 jumps and some of the 90 jumps when i've hired it (bar the one i was talking about previously, that i couldn't work out how to jump the other way) so I definitely know I can do them :D it's just the stringing them all together bit that scares me...

congratulations BM! pics when you are able to ;)

we had an impromptu lesson yesterday as I was on site anyway, trainer offered me a slot. Kira was a little pickle but we ended up with some decent work. I think we might be approaching regumate season again ?

I only have a rubbish still from the videos I took ? Will post once I get him home - hopefully Friday ? ?

As an aside, I took Madame to an arena hire at a new venue today and she went really green on me, which resulted in me eating dirt. she absolutely ballooned it the next time, bless her... more practice needed ?
At least we seem to have found fifth gear and I no longer have to nag at her to go forwards.

Looking forward to hearing about your newbie BM!

We went to a clinic last night which was fab, same instructor as before. Main focus was using shoulder fore in WTC to really get the back end engaged and the hinds stepping under. It was great, really effective on the big horse and gave me some glimpses into how adjustable his paces can actually be. It probably helped that he was full of beans! Not many pics as OH was busy chatting (how dare he) but the canter work def felt much improved and dare I say it borderline uphill (for us anyway lol) at times!

Very pleased with how he is coming along. It’s so nice to have a rideable, trainable horse lol after a couple of years out of the saddle.
