What do you work as/whats your job

I'm currently studying to be a radiographer and work when I can summarizing medical notes for a local gp. I don't have tome for working at the moment though as I have too much uni work, a work placement ans a horse to deal with but go in when I can to earn some money.
 
I'm a practice manager for a vet practice. Previously been a showing groom, head girl, competition groom, equine nurse and pharmacy manager. I'm now totally fed up of veterinary so have negotiated the same wage (yes that's how bad veterinary pay is) to go and work on the livery and riding school where my horse is kept! In a year .... Who knows?!
 
A Zoology student currently enjoying the life of riley and plenty of time for horses (previously Engineering related Admin and hated it!!) :-) also dabble in various crafts!

Hopefully/probably going into Ecological Consultancy after... I have a picture of running my own business from an office in a converted barn :-)
 
I'm a florist. Can come and go from the shop to work round the horses. Apart from Xmas, mothers day and valentines which are manic so it's all hands on deck.
 
I'm a cognitive behavioural therapist in the NHS, planning on doing some private work in the future. I have one horse, on a private yard with an amazing YO who always helps me out if I need it. He lives out 24/7 unless the weather is very bad so it suits both of us perfectly!
 
im a waitress, until i can figure out what i want to do with my life!

- done my degree and working my way into management (again!)...so for the next few years i know which way my life is going (Sort of.......)!


oh...and my ponies live out 24/7, but i dont ride either atm (wont for 6-12 months until i break the baby!)
 
Full time breaking, schooling and full livery yard owner with my sister. Part time carer for my father, studying a part degree in pyschology, freelance writer and just quit my bar job and up until 12 weeks ago I did cleaning work too.

How do I cope? God knows sometimes. Or own horses live on the yard but by the time we have exercised 10, (we have 13 in at the moment), poo-picked/mucked out, sorted everything out etc, the appeal to do anything with our own other than a quick cuddle is lost, let alone ride. I have made the heartbreaking descion to sell my boy because of this.

Very often find myself at 2am in the morning catching up on housework, whilst the washing machine is spinning saddle pads or writing articles for my writing job. We have an easy day on Sundays only but generally the husband wants to ride (he works away during the week) so I find myself back down at the yard. We used to work 7 full days a week but respective partners were moaning so dropped it down to 4 hours max on Sundays. 18 Hour days during the hunting season are a regular thing, on top of everything else.

It's all about time management really and prioritising stuff. My clients horses will always come first regardless and the husband, god bless him knows he is somewhere in the middle of the pile and helps on the yard/comes to competitions just to see me.

I am a workaholic but I love my job and wouldn't change it for the world. Just every now and then when I have a hangover and the alarm is screaming at 4.30 on a cubbing morning to get up, I'd love to turn it off, roll over and phone in sick!
 
I'm a physiotherapist and work both NHS and private, am studying for my vet physio masters, Luckily don't work weekends but do have to go to uni some weekends! Only have 1 horse who is quite happy to stay in the field with her friends!!
 
What interesting jobs everyone has :)..... I'm a Elf, Safety & Environment Manager (runs and hides :o) for a large National construction company it's a very interesting and varied job, although not nice dealing with some of the incidents and major incidents sustained. I am lucky I can schedule my work to suit, I work from home at least 2 days a week, although I am up by 6am and horses done and sat at my desk at home or on the road to an office or site by 6:30/7 most mornings, my days are long 10-12 houra and I am in a position that when something goes wrong I have to drop everything and travel to sort issues. However if I want to hack / school before work, lunch or finish early I can, I find that the flexible working means I work far more hours than when I was office based but I get the best of both worlds. Those downside is I can be staying away for several nights at a time, I'm lucky I have good friends and family who help me out......:)
 
I'm technically a beauty therapist... but somehow work full time in an estate agents? As a receptionist / general doing-everything-ist, from 8-6, sometimes later.
Horses mean I get up at insane am (5:30ish!) to do rugs/stables/throw horses outside, and because she's a high maintenance lady who needs daily riding I get home, throw my bag on the floor, fling horse stuff on again and charge outside to ride before getting everyone in / doing evening feeds / trying to poo pick by torchlight etc.

Which is why it's 10pm, I've just got in, haven't thought about dinner and am about to leap in the shower :eek:
 
I'm a NHS Rotational Physio, i do work weekends on call- and to be honest the extra money helps pay my vet bills/rug addiction/shoeing bills!
I find a lot of human rehab strategies cross over into schooling my ex NH gelding.
 
I'm a political economist by education.
By trade - I run a livery yard, school, teach, solve problems, that's the horses. Apart from horses, we farm sheep and keep some cattle (wouldn't call it farming, there is only half a dozen of the bovines), so I feed, trim feet, worm, vaccinate, treat, lamb, bottle feed, cart to markets and abattoirs, tag and generally do what needs doing, including catching the escapees and grovelling to irate neighbours :D
My OH works away during the week and helps out (or tries, mainly my patience) at weekends.
I have 5 horses of my own, 3 in work and they somehow get slotted in between the paying customers and other things. Housework gets done, ahem, never, washing when I run out of socks, washing up when I run out of plates.
Wouldn't have it any other way, but sometimes feel like murdering somebody ;)
 
Im the managing director of an electronic security company. Also have a small farm which is the excuse for having 7 equines (but 4 are shetlands so dont count as a full horse). Husband lives and works overseas, I notice a couple of others have absentee husbands as well, but I get out there 4 or 5 times a year for a month at a time, so its a constant juggling act. Also have a horse out there so my riding muscles dont turn to jelly while im there, and my horses at home breath a sigh of relief for some time off.
 
I'm in my 3rd year of A levels (did year 12 twice)

Have no idea what I want to do - I don't think I will bother with uni, maybe attempt to get a job after this year to help pay for the horses etc and competing

I did want to do psychology at uni but still live at home but it's just so expensive!
 
I'm an aircraft engineer building electronic equipment for helicopters, when I'm off shift I ride out for a local racehorse trainer.

I've had to put my horse on full livery as my shift work (week of earlier 6am until 2pm followed by a week of late's, 2pm until 10pm plus Saturday 6am overtime) and having to muck out etc. was making me so tired!

I miss doing the dirty work, and have to get my sweeping fix (I LOVE my corn broom!) every time I go to the yard. I've found since Fred has been on full livery I've lost that really close bond, I guess I'm not the one who feeds him now! sometimes I have to spend 15 minutes making him walk around his huge field until he decides it's just easier to be caught. Have to admit I get a bit upset at this but have to remind myself he now has a herd of other horses who are far more interesting :(

The only plus point is I can ride out on the racers, ride my own ex-racer and do 40+ hours a week at work and not be shattered. Me and my OH have spent more time together and we no longer smell like a stable, the car is still filthy though!! Oh, and I'm skint!!! Livery costs a lot!!
 
I'm a Complaint handler for an insurance compant 9-5.15 Monday to Friday and also run a reasonably sized livery yard (30 livery stables) and look after 10 of my own ponies but with a lot of help from 2 fab grooms and my even more amazing Dad who also works full time as a Facilities manager never a dull moment round here :)
 
For the last three years and up until this morning I was employed as a Radiographic Department Assistant within the NHS, the best job I have ever had.

Unfortunately, this afternoon I lost my job due to my ongoing illness. Devastated.
 
Currently...and for the last 10 months been deployed as a member of the US Army National Guard, which when deployed acts as the active army, but when at home we only train one weekend a month and two to three weeks every summer. It's been a long year, but almost over and has been good for fattening the bank account. That contract still has 2.5 years before it runs out.

Upon return home I'll be a full time college student from Nov-Jan, then taking a break and attending the academy in order to obtain a full time job as a police officer. Which will make it almost necessary for full care board for my (not yet owned) horse, since shifts will rotate between 7-3, 3-11 and 11-7, with many late nights and court dates at random times.

But horses will always be worth it to me. :)
 
Another Physio here. I'm a specialist respiratory Physio looking after people who live on (with) a ventilator. Great job but fed up to the back teeth of the skint nhs and the cuts now starting to impact on the patients. Looking to get back into msk Physio and do my veterinary masters, which was the point when I originally trained.

Oh and I have a 17 month old daughter who is fab and keeps me busy. Currently no horse as funds don't allow so have to beg rides off friends.
