How to cause a serious accident/generate large vets bills

Ahh, I'm just South of Lincoln but unless I box 5 miles to Waddingon/Harmston etc there isn't the slightest hint of a hill! Not good for fittening!

    Rubber matting trailer

Oh id measured and was going to have the 6ft as length and 4 ft as width, it falls a bit short on the edge but wondered if that would matter as for non slippage. I wasn't glimg to bother with nose of box, just where he stands.

    Rubber matting trailer

I don't use the box loads but want it heavy enough to not churn up and pony trip over it, but I need to get it in and out easily.

    Rubber matting trailer

It's a wooden half partition and quite easy to move.

Terrible but I'm also wondering where you found a hill in Lincolnshire?! Being from a flat part of the county myself!

    Rubber matting trailer

I'm putting some rubber matting on top of my new wooden floor in my Rice trailer. A 6ft x 4ft sheet will fit to make a non slip ride. Should i be going for 17 mm or 12 mm thickness? I want go take it out after each use so floor doesn't sweat underneath.

Used the same saddle for years, no probs

I got my first pony in the 80s and in the 7 years I had him I don't ever recall having a back person or saddler out. He just had yearly dentist, jabs and farrier. That was it. His behaviour was fantastic, I did hunter trials, SJ and hunted, he went on to be ridden into his mid 30s.

    Yard know it alls

I also like Dunlin's approach and think I will take that one if it continues. It's the only blip on an otherwise perfect yard. I don't want to be pushed into snapping back at her. I think she means well but in fact is a relative newcomer to horse ownership. It does just grind you down after...

    No one told me...

My worry, and I have decided it is a bit of OCD..is whether my saddle is in the tight place. Number of times I've got on and off a couple of times at start of a hack to move it backwards or forwards half an inch.

    Yard know it alls

. Yes I do seethe then fester on it while at home. I've only been there about 6 weeks and love it otherwise. Perhaps just best nipping it in the bud in the early days.

    Yard know it alls

You always have to get one don't you? I don't pass comment on how others look after their horses. If they were doing something dangerous I would obviously step in and offer advice. But it's the snidey comments...everything from clipping my very sweat prone horse (it's cruel to leave him with...

Do you ever get over being paranoid about colic?

Lost a young horse to colic earlier this year (it was a physical problem - called epiploic foramen rather than stomach ache) but even so I now monitor my new horse very closely. I never want to go through that again, he suffered so much.

    Trailer floor wet!

My Rice has just been serviced and an independent guy charged me £80 plus parts. The local towing specialists are £100.

    Necks on rugs and clips

Hi, my Fell pony has a chase clip which is suitable for the amount and type of work he does. I have 100g and a 200g rugs, both with no neck. He's in a paddock with hedge on one side only, no shelter but I have a stable he can go into if weather really foul. Ad lib hay and a small Happy hoof...
