Recovering mentally from a fall - advice

Hi. I had a fall jumping recently and wonder if anyone has tips for moving on from it mentally. I find that I get a lot of anxiety riding again after a fall, and I often take a big step back. Thanks heaps 😊

    Keyflow Pink Mash

I am planning to replace my Alfa A with Pink Mash as I don’t think my horse does well behaviourally on alfalfa. Is Pink Mash a substitute for chaff? Can you feed Pink Mash alone? Can Pink Mash be given pre-ride? (as I do with Alfa A for ulcer management). I’ll give Keyflow a call when they...

    Gastric ulcer management

Hi. Since treating my gelding’s ulcers I always feed him 1/2 to 1 scoop of chaff with 120g m. linseed, within 20 mins of riding him. I have been feeding healthy tummy and alfa a but am now looking at a non alfalfa chaff due to behavioural issues. All the best for the treatment 😊

Can you make a profit from running a livery yard?

I was wondering whether running a livery yard would bring me in say £500-£1000 per month to cover my own horses costs. I have heard some yards make a loss so was just trying to get a general idea of others’ experiences before producing a detailed Business Plan. I am married so I am not on...

Can you make a profit from running a livery yard?

Thanks for everyone’s replies! Really helpful! By ‘profit’ I mean enough money left over each month to feed, stable and do some competitions with my horse; I wouldn’t need a salary for myself as such 😊 I’ve got lots to think about!

    Alfalfa, Ulcers & Behavioural Issues

My horse was treated for ulcers, and is scoped clear. He is on Alfa A Oil as I have been advised that feeding alfalfa is a good option for maintenance post treatment. Has anyone experienced behavioural issues feeding alfalfa? My gelding has been extra ‘irritable’. Does anyone feed non...

Can you make a profit from running a livery yard?

I am looking at a career move and wondering if it is possible to make a profit running a livery yard, as I hear so many people say you can’t. My horse is currently on full livery and pretty much most of my salary is spent on him and my hobby anyway. It would be fantastic to work with horses...

    Sycamore Poisoning

Hi. After a horse has eaten sycamore seeds how long does it take for the symptoms to show? A horse recently moved to our yard and sadly passed away from the poisoning. I am concerned we have the seeds in our area.

Thanks. I have seen the facilities and am happy with them but more so wanted to know from current or previous liveries about what the staff are like, happy and well looked after horses etc.
