I saw an advert recently - someone just letting you spend time with their horses and doing some jobs, and you could pay them to do that it was about £20 a week too!
I do pay for my share/part loan but I've treated him as my own for 3 years, been able to compete etc and I know I couldn't have...
What about using readigrass instead of the chaff if he loves grass, you can up it when you need - my boy loves it, he also has micronised linseed which really helps
Have you tried Preloved, that is where we got our last sharer and she seems perfect!
It did take a while to get any responses but worth the wait this time!
I've used white Woof Wear club boots for warming up and lessons for a couple of years now, still clean up lovely. I was given a pair of LeMieux brushing boots as they were "smarter" and they are rubbish, the edges have all curled up and make them really awkward to put on - so have gone back to...
With those kinds of % I would go Silver and have a go at qualifying for the regionals - you could easily pick up the points pretty quickly.
Like above, depends on what you want to qualify for though!
I use brushing boots all round for lunging, same for hacking, and now he has front shoes on will put overreach boots on too - he doesn't really brush but just protects in case he is being a bit of an idiot or doing faster work!
I like the fleecy bandages for schooling as less chances of rubbing...
I use Lucas' Pawpaw ointment from Australia - is amazing, use it for sores, bites, grazes - anything really - lasts for ages if you can get a kind person to bring it back!
We moved to Saracen re- leve and micronised linseed (2 cups a day) and he's finally built up this year, he almost looks plump this winter- seems to be good energy wise, no silliness but a bit more oomph!
I am on my second winter with my Barbour wellies, they have a slightly fleecy lining which is definitely a bit warmer than the normal ones. Find them really comfy but they are rather slippy, particularly on wet concrete. I don't drive in them or give them particularly rigorous use though!
We pay ours £10 for an hours work - she gets a £5 extra for another livery on 3 days too.
If you are paying for the whole day though I should think NMW would be correct.
Definitely look at thermal baselayers/leggings for under the normal riding wear - if you keep the core temperature warm then you will find extremities don't suffer so much - I have the Sealskins riding winter gloves and they are great, just about use them for schooling, but perhaps not a...
Morning feeds between 8-9am, then evening feeds from 4.30-7.30 dependent on riding etc! Poor Louis is often last as I don't get down to yard until 17:30/18:00 so I am not finished up until much later than the others who are quite often sorted by 5pm. Whereas weekends, sometimes they come in at 4...
I bought a riding pair last year at Olympia and I love them, can just about tack up in them and then ride in them, do agree the lining is a bit annoying as it gets tucked up but warm and definitely do the job!
