done it with cats and dogs. they even have items on the market with kind of a vacuum attatched specifically for that. i guess if you can do it with a horse without gettin kicked, same theory! lol, i'd give it a go on an easy going horse.
ok. i cant even finish all the replies... not without popping a vein in my head anyways. the OP NEVER suggested the old horse was in any way suffering or in bad health. so lets assume its a perfectly healthy, perfectly happy 30 year old horse... why they !!!!! are you people suggesting having it...

i'm just amazed by this. i'm the OH of a horsey girl, who since we've been together, has broken bones. and i just kinda shrugged it off as part of the horse game. if you ride regularly, the inevitable is going to happen. and this, was a broken elbow. and i hope you dont take this the wrong...
you should read the gypsy cob handbook a little closer. if your horse is fashion conscious, you cant clip his feathers, how would he ever hold his head up high around the other horses again!?

i have to say that i'm surprised you're using your sons condition as a bargaining chip in this dispute. whether he's autistic or not. the situation isnt working for you. i dont think its right to bring it in to play and say that they have to give you this that or the other, or deny their own...
i have to agree with the majority here. they are still the owners. and as the owners, should be able to do whatever it is they want with the pony. as a sharer, you agree to be able to do things as well. but, if they're not giving you the amount of time, or the days, or the price you're willing...
