Custom made Silhouette saddle as found it hard to fit any of the standard models for her so it ended up as bits of various design to be comfortable. Also used a heather moffett Flex EE which worked well.
Thanks RubysGold. I've posted mistys story a few times on a few facebook groups to try and dispel all the doom and gloom stories. It's just a case of time and not rushing anything. She's been out in the school for the first time last weekend and nearly gave me a heart attack when she decided...
My girl has been on box rest since july following her pedal bones in both dropping and rotating..Followed by them doing it again in September just as things were looking up. I'm lucky as we found some hay on the farm which is absolutely rubbish which had been dried in the field, rained on for a...
Have you had a look at solution saddles? We have a WBxTBxCob with decent withers that fits her great and also a very wide flat back that we struggled to find something to fit. They aren't cheap brand new but they are very good :-)
I'm currently with Scottish Equestrian and have an ongoing claim with them for lami. They've been good at paying out. They insist on every claim form put in been signed by the vet (even for the remedial shoeing) but not had a problem with them. Just renewed and now have exclusion of lami EMS...
My partners daughter jumps in her solution saddle (show jumping and cross country). I think theres a guide re sizes on solutions website

We have a couple of solutions and they are great so I'd second solution. Also have a heather moffett one as well which I had on my shire x warmblood and found very comfy.
We've just had ours weighed on a weighbridge from a feed company
18hh Shire x warmblood 818kg (Currently stabled 24/7 due to lami and on diet) Weigh taped over 100kg less
16.2hh warmblood x tb x cob 720kg (Fit horse that competes and spot on)
15.2hh cob 628kg (Currently stabled 24/7...
Miscanthus is well worth trying. I've got one on 24/7 box rest and she's a very wet mare. Wood pellets and shavings just weren't doing the job and stable ended up like a swamp without changing large quantities every day. So far it seems to be doing a good job.
We have a 7.5t lorry, my girl is just under 18hh and in 7ft3 rugs. She fits in as long as we have the partitions in the right place for her. It's definitely worth measuring and then measuring again. It might sound silly but don't forget to allow for length of neck and head as well.
I'm currently using a Heather Moffett and love it :-) We also have solution saddles for our other horses as my other half loves them as well. Solutions aren't cheap but if your lucky you can pick up one at reasonable price second hand and solution have been very helpful when we had questions as...
I seem to remember it was around the 80 pound mark last time we had him over which was well over a year ago(don't quote me on the price as it was a while ago). best thing is to give him a call his number is on the website if I remember correctly. He's worth his weight in gold!
We've also used Mickey before last time for my sometimes rude mare. He's fab. say's it as he sees it and wouldn't leave until we were perfectly happy :-)
