Just to throw out a different recommendation... my friend leant me some clipperman dragons cordless clippers for my mare when she needed clipping. They were wonderful and I bought a pair straight after and since lost my horse, but fully recommend them for hairy cob winter coat and clipping full...
Thank you, straighter cut is what we need, my girl has enormous shoulders and has been near impossible to fit anything to perfectly. Thanks for the advice re foam, will mention it to saddle fitter see what he has to say
Looking for some saddle advice.
I've been using a thorowgood t6 on my cob for the past 3 years ago. It's been adjusted to fit as we went along but have finally accepted that she's just too wide and flat backed for it to work any more.
YO has a lovely Frank Baines saddle that she's looking to...
Ordered from them last week for the first time in years, parcel arrived within two days. Only a pair of jodhpurs but pleased with how fast they got to me
Noble outfitters suit me the best. I live in them. I've got two pairs, one with suede knee patches and a phone pocket on the leg, one pair with silicone horseshoe print on the knees and 5 normal pockets. Really rate them, had my pair about 3 years now used them from riding, running, hay baling...
Pre covid I was a bar supervisor, long late shifts. The earliest I would start was 11am, sometimes started at 4pm which was great because I could ride before work.
Now I'm furloughed and decided to pick up a second job. Max 9am start, working from home, lucky to get a convenient lunch break...
Oh yes, I know the channel well and have commented constructive advice that they had asked for before only to be shot down in flames ? I just refrain from not commenting on anything anymore so sad to see that horses suffer but its good to know that the majority of owners try their best and know...
This is who I thought this thread was originally about. It's sad that everything is now seen as bullying or hate.
I hope that most riders would be aware of their weight and impacting their horses welfare.
I have an account in mind who I find to be uncomfortable viewing. Could you pm me the account you mean OP? Interested to see if its the same.
I used to be very large, too large for my horse so I lost weight and now although on the heavier side of most riders I fit into the under 20% rule...
Thank you all, some great replies and advice here as always.
I think I'll leave them alone and keep a careful eye on them. She's not going to be sold and as they're not hurting her going to monitor and see in next few months. Vet will be back in 5 months for jabs so I will leave till then and...
Thank you. Yes we are well protected from the flies. Luckily she isn't a fly magnet but has deet spray every day and thinking I might invest in a good fly rug
Thank you, hadn't thought about another vets so that's a good shout even for a second look and opinion.
I was thinking the same, my mare is sensitive and I think the whole thing may traumatise her
Thank you. She's on a balancer and nothing has changed in her routine/life. No she's not insured, never has been I usually put money aside each month as an emergency fund but with covid and redundancy my finances are depleted
Over winter I noticed my usually healthy 6 year old mare has developed a sarcoid on her chest. It's about the size of a 20p and not bothering her.
Over the past month two more have appeared on the inside of her thighs with another forming. They're not bothering her in the slightest, not sore or...
