You could try ringing Asti Riding School who are nearby and well established in the area, they might know the name. There was another yard in Goosey but it was sold about 18 months ago
mariethegroom, if I was anywhere near you (and personaly knew the quality of your work) I would happily send it your way...I have a list of freelance grooms in my area that I have worked with and usually send potential customers on to them
Most county areas have a specific equestrian group on Facebook which is good for networking. See if your local hunt have a newsletter or email system that you can get an entry on, also riding clubs and similar newsletters
I am freelance and get all my work by word of mouth, I have never...
I am sure if you get in touch with your local feed store you can drive home a better price, especially if you commit to ordering a pallet load at a time
Passport issuers (and the vets who fill in the descriptions) are under strict instructions as to what colour descriptions can be used, they certainly shouldn't have accepted 'golden dun'
Not being one to over react, I would eliminate mites and lice as potential causes, and then consult a vet as to whether this is a neurological problem. If it was a response to infection I would expect the horse to be very ill by now
I am interpreting what you say as that your horse is now evading a contact behind the bit. Are you using one rein or two with this bit? Is it possible to take some pressure off the noseband element, or soften it with bit wrap?
I also have two by HTobago out of the same mare. Both are red duns with a tiny white star, the older gelding has a little more bone than the younger filly but in every other respect they are a very close match, temperamentally they are very similar
The gelding as a 2 year old
The filly as...
My view is that it is really not necessary to bond with a horse in order to get it fit and sound enough to sell, I can say that from the perspective of working with many horses, some of which I don't particularly like.
I know that if it is your own horse this may be more of a challenge, but...
depends, if horse and I parted company I would call the Police on a non emergency number to let them know my details in case somebody calls in about the horse
In an emergency 999 of course
Other than that, Yard Owner maybe (as horse tend to find their way home)
Do you know the breeding for your mare? It may give you an idea of what is in her background that you could use as a type for the stallion.
I only ever do AI and have gone to a stallion as big as 3 hands taller, but my mare is chunky and roomy, and it wasn't her first foal.
There may be some interest and advantages to horse owners, but to casual non horse owning rider there is really nothing on offer from the BHS to tempt them.
Whilst on local committees there are some very good people doing excellent work my experience from being on the inside of it was that...
the other thing to take into account is that although on a standard Wintec you can change the gullet size, the centre channel and pads will always be about a medium fit. On the Wide option they are slightly wider and flatter
