    Skylla update

I found it impossible to find a boot that was either big enough so I could get it on, but not so big that the top of it couldn't fasten small enough to keep it on (but I only tried the plastic Shires one) And Horsecroz were brilliant - until she moved, then the bits sticking up at the back stuck...

    Anyone else's horses lacking spark?

Wish mine would calm down a bit- mad as a box of frogs at the moment!

    Feel like quitting

Maybe her behaviour is seasonal/hormonal/spring grass related rather than specifically a clipping thing. Does she react in the same way to any other things? Have known mares be aggressive/terratorial at this time of year, then settle down again..just a thought.

    bucas rug fit question

I have a high withered ISH, Horseware rugs don't fit at all - far too small around shoulders. I have the Bucas Irish turnout, a wonderful rug, beautiful fit, gathered all around the neck. I'd say the sizes are generous, mine is usually a 6'6" in combo's but 6'3" is perfect (has a detachable neck).

    Medium- heavyweight turnout rugs

Ruggles are good, and Weatherbeeta - both fit well and last well

    Lincoln valerian cordial

Have used valerian calmer, though not the Lincoln one..I think it did make a difference, but not the dramatic one I'd anticipated from it being banned competitively! As others have said, what works for one, doesn't work for another. I have a better result using Global Herbs Supercalm, I was...

    Expensive business

In esters post the show report says the owner is Faragher, the same name cropped up in Jemima's post of another news article giving more detail of the case, in which a Stephen Faragher was described as a trainer who had looked at the horse for the Waltons...

would you buy a used saddle off eBay?

Yes, my saddle fitter told me the make and style my horse was most suited to, told me to shop on ebay, and came and fitted it when it arrived. Saddle was well packed and exactly as described.

    Bargain lightweight turnout recommendations please

Another vote for Ruggles - also Bridleway a\nd Shires are very good. Gallop never leaked but was an odd cut around the neck, seemed massive (and my horse has big shoulders!)

Stopping my horse from napping and getting him listening

How about trying some Michael Peace stuff, ridden and groundwork, with him. And a "whip whop" instead of a whip to encourage him forward..( about £8 on eBay)..got Michael Peace books on Ebay too, worked with mine!
