Very difficult situation - sorry for the essay

Thanks for your post WelshD, to begin with I did trust that she was in a good home, and then someone who knows the horse told me that she has probably been sold on to another dealer and will just be passed from pillar to post. I think hearing this is what has made me worry so much about her...

Very difficult situation - sorry for the essay

She didn't have a UK passport (all her details were in spanish) when she came to me on loan, so I was the one who got her micro chipped and passported, so I gave her passport to them. Thank you very much for your advice xx

Very difficult situation - sorry for the essay

Thank you LaurenBay, I had sent up a facebook page to try and trace her but was concerned that the dealer she went to may start getting annoyed (I obviously wouldn't reference anyone, but I have no doubt that they would see the posts and get in contact with me)

Very difficult situation - sorry for the essay

no they didn't get involved, they left the situation with me to sort. the mare was out of work and needed a bit of time, I gave (wasn't a sale) her to them on the understanding that she found a good home (it is complicated, although they were technically her owner they hadn't paid for her in...

Very difficult situation - sorry for the essay

I have been undecided about whether to post this on here for quite a while, with it being a public forum. To cut a very long story short, I had a horse on full loan (to me) with a long agreement in place. Due to a change in circumstances I could no longer continue with the loan. I was aware...

    plantar fasciitis and riding.

I have this, so can sympathise with you. I was thinking along the same lines, hoping that feet in stirrups would help, but my mum who is a physio told me this wouldn't really make any difference. I wear shoe supports (specific plantar fasciitis ones) and my mum also advises calf stretches and...

    Becoming a vet nurse....advice please!?

I was in a similar position to you, so hopefully I can offer some insight. Student vet nurse jobs (small animal) are incredibly hard to come by, equine even more so. Please don't let that put you off though. I started off as a work experience student, then about 1 year later was offered a...

Hi, I'm also planning to go to Hartpury this September and have created a facebook page, can be found by searching 'Hartpury Students 2015' . Thought it would be a good way to get to know people before September :)

broken fencing - 3rd party insurance?

I no longer have a horse but before she went to a new home, she managed to break 17 wooden field posts that are internally attached to the wire fencing (if that makes sense!) They have snapped in the ground. The fencing belongs to the farmer next door, and we need to get it fixed asap before the...

So what have you met out on hacks this year?

Came across an Emu last year!! :D Probably the most unusual thing that I've come across whilst out hacking! Had to walk right alongside it to get to where we needed to be...my horse mastered the skill of going backwards at great speed, and then we produced some lovely dressagey moves when going...

    Apprenticeship vs degree

Thank you so much for the posts and good luck wishes - very much appreciated :) In answer to the questions - I applied for the FdSc which is 3 years, the BSc does open up further options but realistically I don't think I'll be able to go to uni for 4 years, due to living expenses, so I decided...
