I’ve started weaning Dash , and so far so good. Started a couple of weeks earlier than planned , purely because Aria is looking a little tired and less covered than usual .
So I’ve been bringing them in during the day and separating them , then back out together at night . Plan is to separate completely Sunday . At the moment both enjoying their own time in the stable . Aria comes in first , and Dash stays out with the other mare and foal . No calling at all . Then Dash comes in and enjoys a belly full of Haylage and good nap .
I’ve put a couple of grown ups in the field next to them so Aria can get used to them , Sunday she will go in the field with them and Dash stays with other mare and foal . Cash ( other foal ) is only 4 months , so won’t start with him until December

How’s everyone’s foals doing ?

Dash( part bred Connie) is super cool . Very laid back and completely weaned now .
Have started weaning Cash , he’s got his potential new mum coming to see him on Saturday . So will wean him properly next week .
As we’ve been so thrilled with Dash , and with Cash potentially being sold thought I’d keep an eye out for a little friend for Dash .
In all honesty I’m loving watching the boys together. They play so well and are a joy to watch . So meet Dash’s half brother ( same sire ) He’s called Tulira Hyperion . Arrived last night and has settled right in with the boys

My filly has been weaned, and she spent some time with Joe Midgely, learning how to lead and pick her feet up. She and the other weanlings are back out for the winter now with a couple of older nanny horses to keep an eye on them all.

I don't have a recent picture of her, but weaning went well. No drama as we'd added Evie's new friends to the field 4 weeks previous, mum was loaded and settled straight away at her new field.
Did briefly advertise her for sale a couple of months ago, but as people suggested there doesn't seem to be much of a market atm unless they're offering peanuts or asking for a payment plan.

Ahh the ups and downs of breeding. The ups bred 2 lovely boys this years, both have the best temperaments. Took a deposit for Cash ( pure bred ID colt) back in October, lady was supposed to view but never made it. I even offered a viewing by Facetime, she didnt even turn up for that. So i sent her the deposit back and cancelled the sale. No way am i letting a foal go off to someone i cant meet. So having bought another foal to keep the remaining one company i now have 3 colt foals and 1 yearling. But they are blooming amazing together, i call them my band of merry men. They all are just the best of friends

They are glorious @Xmasha shame about the sale. Your black ID has very similar star to my Fell if I was in the market for a youngster I could have matching little and large 😅

Thank you ! ive always been a mare fan, but these 4 boys just make me smile. They are all super kind. I can muck out the field shelter with all 4 of them in there and all they want is a cuddle.
As for the black one with the star, thats Rocky. I do laugh at him as he looks more friesan than ID. I keep telling him he must grow out of it :D
