Another fatal dog attack

Her mum has released images of the injuries. I have never seen anything like it.
Jeeesus! I have just seen it.

It is horrific but these images need to be out there I think. Perhaps then people will stop pratting around with their 'furbabies'.

Eta - I also cannot wrap my head around how a child can just be getting out of a car and then a dog just goes for them with such ferocity.

Can you direct me to where I can see this please.

I don’t recall seeing this in reports of similar cases, only the usual ‘dangerously out of control’ - I’m curious what the distinction is in this case.
Dangerously out of control can apply to any dog of any dog breed and just refers to their behaviour.
Possessing a dog bred for fighting means you own one of the banned breeds (because, as per the DDA, the banned breeds are all banned because they appear to have been bred for fighting) and do not have exemption for your dog.

Not sure what the legal distinction is between 'possession of a dog bred for fighting' and 'possession of a prohibited dog', as iirc normally people get prosecuted for the latter.

My goodness that is even worse than I was imagining. Poor child, can't begin to comprehend how much that must hurt. That should definitely be shown to all bully owners/lovers.

I'm not sure that would work.

a) Some owners babies are soft, loving and would never do that

b) Some owners don't give a stuff what their dog could do to affect other peoples lives, it looks good and that's all that matters

c) And I hope I'm wrong but I believe some owners probably have them solely because they can inflict serious damage to other dogs and people

I'm not sure whether this has already been posted, it's not new. Nothing earth shattering here, but quite a nice explanation of why some breeds of dog are not suitable as pets.

It's a good article.

We laugh about the more benign breeds (spaniels) doing what comes naturally to them - my farrier's one would retrieve prey so she current retrieves gloves and various bits of grooming kit - but we gloss over the hunting / fighting skills of some breeds.

I've known more dog bites in the past 4 years than in the rest of my life

I mean as well as all the mental turmoil caused by being born from a genetic cluster****, might it be possible that the fact that so many of these dogs seem miserable and angry at life, is because they are deformed and probably in quite a lot of pain? How some of those dogs stand and walk around, I don't know.

Or what about this one? Doesn't like children or women or other dogs. Strong on the lead but OK OFF LEAD 👀

Aside from the behavioural problems, photos show puppy/lazy sit. Something wrong with hips, back, knees? Not normal. Needs checking.

ETA. Cross posted with CC.
