Thank all for you kind comments and wishes for Rocky .
Vet wanted to take him off the metacam to see if it was masking anything . But no lameness found . His temperature spiked to 39 , so back on it now . Vet says he seems stable at the minute as no new symptoms other than a bit of discharge after they tubed him . Still eating and drinking .
It’s his SAA that’s 1900 ( should be 0) but white cell count ok . Vets hoping that if they keep him on the antibiotics the virus will eventually run its course . I asked vet if he thinks Rocky will pull through , he said he should do. So keeping everything crossed for him xx

Well that sounds a lot more positive than the foal of a similar age that a friend of mine lost. She asked the vet at about this stage what she could do and he said "pray".

Now, Rocky, stop worrying your mother and all of us, matey, and get back home. .
Sorry to hear about your friends foal What happened / what was wrong ?

Something very similar sounding, the suspicion from a swelling on her face was a fly bite. She was on a drip being pumped full of fluid and antibiotics but it wasn't enough. Rocky sounds as if he's in a far better place, otherwise I wouldn't have mentioned the foal we fought for and lost.

Vets tend to be quite conservative with positive statements like that to avoid giving false hope, so it’s definitely a good thing he said that.

I have everything crossed for a positive update in the morning, and a photo of a happy looking Rocky.

Senior vet has called . His temperature is ok , he’s ok when up and about . But he’s still struggling when getting up . Senior vet thinks the infection could be in his spine . If it is , then sadly it’s a poor prognosis.
All we can do now is wait until he’s had 5 days of the antibiotics he started on Saturday.
Just feel so helpless and devastated

It's times like this I wish I believed in the power of prayer. I'm hoping for a miracle for Rocky anyway, Asha, so sorry to read this update 😢
