A study quoted in The Body Keeps the Score found that survivors of the attack on the World Trade Centre found acupuncture, massage, yoga and emdr were the most helpful ways to cope with their trauma. Can you book yourself in for some acupuncture or a massage?
I rave about it all the time, but I have an acupressure mat. It helps me with stress and muscle aches and pain and insomnia.

It's bizarre and when I first tried it I thought, ouch! Not for me.

But I persevered and I fall asleep on it now

Sorry everyone for the delay in this, I meant to write a few days ago when it arrived! And now I'm wearing it and in the airport so can't really take a decent pic, so will use an image from their website :)

I never really buy jewelry but the one thing I do wear 24/7 is a necklace with a wave across it, a kind of symbol of the ocean. Made by a company called Atolea. Anyway, it felt kind of cursed somehow, and I don't feel much love for the ocean at the moment. So I used some of the original gift card to buy a new "permanent" necklace in the form of a horseshoe to I hope symbolize some better luck from now on?. From a company where all the jewelry is handmade by ex army veterans. It came in a beautiful box I meant to get a photo and will try and remember when I'm back, but it's attached!

Then Boggle got a Haas brush, always wanted one of those, and his favourite "cookies" (a big tub), and Pepper got a new carrot toy which she loves.

Anyway, I hope you approve of how I've spent it! I know it maybe seems a little lavish to have spent a chunk on jewelry rather than something for Bog, but it'll make me smile every time I see it, will last forever and hopefully, hopefully it'll be lucky and break this horrible string of bad luck. Thank you again everyone so much.

I haven't thought about the other voucher yet, but that will be 100% spent on Bog, he has many, many supplements and things he requires so it'll be immensely helpful. :D

Pic of Bog when he heard the cookie jar rustle from my car :D

I love the necklace idea. I also love seeing Boggle out in a big pasture, no mud and, what's more, with a pal!!!

I hope the necklace changes your luck, it’s lovely. Pleased Pepper got a new toy she looks happy and treats for Bog are obviously necessary.

The necklace is beautiful and I do hope it brings you better luck. Also heartily agree with spreading the largesse to the two little furries as well!!

My chiropractor does acupuncture too, it's surprisingly relaxing.

How lovely! I think that with all you have been through in the past year, the necklace is a wonderful idea, and it is so appropriate in many different ways - that's a really inspired purchase! I'm so pleased you have been able to use the gift to buy something you will enjoy wearing - and that will all being well bring you some well deserved luck! 🎁

i wanted to say to you before you went diving, don`t go, but had not the courage, i felt perhaps you needed stability at the mo, just to be still within your own space, allow your body and mind to go through allowing it all to sink in and just think things through from an in the past after the event, perspective, let the natural recovery from the bog stuff roll out in its own time.

all your courage has been used up, bit like the money! so let it build back up, and it will , you will come through, courage and money will return, quietly, i love that notion of letting things sort themselves out quietly.

pretty necklace, how about some calming or healing crystals

Except he's TERRIBLE to him, though never actually leaves a mark or makes contact. He's even meaner to him than he was to Bear (maybe he prefers other connemaras!?). He's just so dominant and bossy it's unreal. His friend only has to move a hoof from 50 metres away and Boggle's outraged he hasn't approved it. You'd think I did the worst thing ever giving him a pal, but heaven forbid I take said pal away from him...

I have a mare like this. They all end up rolling their eyes at her eventually, but she’s pretty terrifying before they realise it’s all hot air 😂

A frivolous spend is what it’s all about, after what you have been through it’s good to have a bit of a treat. The necklace is lovely and I hope it brings you luck and nice for Pepper and Bog to get treats as well

It’s definitely been used up. In San Diego for work at the moment and just walked to the beach. It’s not giving me any horrid visuals being by the water but I definitely don’t have any desire to be in or under it 😞 it’s such a bummer as other than riding Bog it’s the happiest place for me. So that’s two big things gone this year.

Hopefully it’ll come back one day, but being by the ocean used to make my stomach flip in a good way and now it’s just nothing. Didn’t even bother fully walking down the steps to get wet feet.

Del Mar racetrack for anyone interested!

I feel things being "gone" I lost a lot coming to the US/while here. I have discovered a new thing or two, but it doesn't fill in this gaping hole.

I hear you! Sucks doesn't it.

Honestly, I can't help but think I should have stayed in the UK and got married off to a nice farmer where I could go hunting at the weekends and wake up to Bog's head over the stable door every day, spend my days in wellies and not have any of this craziness!

I know that's not remotely what I want really or I'd have done it but, ya know. Life would be simpler.
