Oh Bog!! It's strangely mild and dry here, so rather than using their clean, deep bedded shelter, my lot are sleeping in/on the clay mud of the sacrifice paddock  I just figure they know what they prefer and I let them get on with it, but my god are they closer to hippos than horses sometimes.

Horses often don't use shelter as we think they would 🤣 I just leave them the option and let them do as they please.

I thought about it a bit more and wondered if he's a bit warm under his blanket and maybe rather lay out in the snow/cold because it feels better? Then again, there might be 0 logic that we can assign to this 😂

Oh possibly altho I’m blanketing under what I usually would to account for no clip, he doesn’t feel “hot” under it but you know when they are hairy they never really do unlike when they are clipped and you can feel the heat from the skin more.

Hmmmm. He isn’t usually a hot horse.

He’s so annoying!

Well this was part one of it on Wednesday! Apparently we got nearly three feet in total but I left Thursday for Florida (work thing or I would have cancelled) and am not back until tomorrow. The horses on Wednesday had no interest in staying out in it so they haven’t been made to, it’s unusual here to have 4 days of continuous snow like this. Usually it snows then is bright and sunny the next day. My grooms got to barn fine though and I had neighbor back up if needed.

I nearly missed my flight to Florida the snow was so bad to drive in, two of my colleagues on same flight didn’t make it. It was the 12th biggest snowfall on record in Denver apparently and 3rd biggest November snowfall on record.

In a few days time it’ll be 15 degrees. Crazy, the other night it was -13.

Atlas grew up in California then went to Minnesota end of April this year. I don’t think he’s seen proper snow. He seems to love rolling in it!
