Good grief the cheek is immense.

He’s backing up normally and leaping around in hand and generally being very naughty 🤣 I won’t post the video as I’m calling him a cheeky little *****and not sure that’s allowed in a video on here haha. Look at that lip!

Very different to Boggle who was no where near as recovered as he is in this length of time. I hope that means good things for Atlas. He really does at this point look more stiff rather than neuro to me but obviously I’m not a vet!

I am so relieved the world feels like it’s the right way up again. I think I may be crying more now then when it happened haha.

I think it's possible he's going to be a little more fruity to back him second time round!

Thank you everyone! I’m heading to Santa Ana for a quick work trip, whilst Atlas is weaned off the banamine so hopefully he will stay stable and good until I get back.

I am bouncing around very happy right now whilst knowing it could be extremely short lived cos.. life.

Man has remained awesome and I am very grateful for his presence. Also relieved he’s seen me about as snotty and disgusting as humanely possible and doesn’t seem to find me totally revolting yet 😂

And yes Atlas is pulling out full feral cheekiness as I think he knows I’m just delighted to see him behaving like an idiot so I’m half heartedly going “woah” while smiling. There will be some repercussions to his behaviour in the next few weeks! Not right now though ❤️

Blimey, not sure quite how I missed all this but @Michen my heart was in my mouth reading the last few pages. I was so relieved for you to see he was doing ok. I hope you can relax a bit now. And now you know he might be a bit of a drama queen…. I have one who if he gets an abscess, will drag himself round as if his legs been chopped off . Another who will put on a poker face making it hard to know if they are not right. But seriously, I am so very relieved for you!

I have missed a big chunk of this. I just came on dreading the worst news and I’m so delighted to see it’s not.
Go Atlas! Sticky bum jods time for Michen.

When I first saw your earlier posts I said to myself ‘that looks like a horse with a headache’

I think he’s hit his head somehow. Sort of horsey concussion. Anyway. Take no give of me! I’m just probably wrong. Just glad he’s feeling ‘ahem’ better!

We think that is what happened (hit her head) to my then yearling. She was ataxic for a couple of days, reacted well to painkillers and was feeling better in a few days. Couldn't see any injury, but she kept her head low for about a week. I think perhaps she reared up and fell over? No sign of any damage to anything in the field.

Well no relapse with the removal of the banamine. And he is being SO naughty. It’s like he’s thrilled he has lived and now can’t stop bouncing and being very feral. I really can’t see anything neuro like but he has been resting that left hind a little oddly occasionally, I’m so convinced something happened there. Trying to sort some sort of bodywork that’s low key to see if it helps.

He gets a vet check on the 28th and retested for EPM, the results take a week so sadly have to keep him on the drug for a while longer but will do so just incase.

He has also discovered cap removal. Fun game he thinks. Unfortunately for him from now he is being firmly placed back in his box.

Ah yes - the "let him get away with anything because you are so relieved he is better " syndrome. Been there - done that. Difficult to resist that face though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah imagine the terror Boggle became! Although he always was one. But Atlas was a delightfully polite if a little cheeky minded young thing before this happened and now seems to think he’s gods gift to the world.

Back in a rope halter from today 🤣

Guys, I can't believe it. I really thought I was going to have to put Atlas to sleep and I'm not even sure how I'd have coped with grieving for another horse whilst still very much grieving for Boggle. I know I'd have figured it out but damn, I think it would have really taken it's toll.

Thank you so much for having our backs, again. I'll update on his progress and the results of his appointment in a week!

Yeah it’s wonderful 💕

The relief over it all is immense. I’ll treasure that little chap even more now.
So let’s get this right. This was the little chap that wasn’t going to match up to what you wanted but could be a temporary stop gap project sort of thing that you could sell on??? 🤔🤔🤔😂😂😂 Me thinks someone’s stolen your heart!

Yeah no he's not going anywhere ever haha. He's unsellable now anyway! Boggle was meant to be the same :D

Could also be partly the antibiotics for the Lyme (if I'm right that he's still having the course)? as mine was absolute 🔥 after treatment 😅 It was quite the surprise (albeit very good news)!

Happy cheeky chap :)

I think it was too quick an improvement to be the antibiotics and also I don't think (Druid may say otherwise) neuro lymes could improve like that so quick. But it could be that the antibiotics helped some kind of other inflammation.

Took this for my Colorado vet friends.

I mean he needs a full neuro work up obviously which he will get next week but this doesn’t look remotely like a neuro horse to me.

Just letting him trot around at the end of a lead rope because I don’t trust giving him any more space right now as would like him to keep a lid on things a little longer!

Sorry, I think my brain has gone mushy this week (I'll blame work) and did not mean to associate the Lyme's with the neuro necessarily, but that if there was also underlying Lyme's, the antibiotics would help him feel better on that point too.

I still don't think I'm making sense 😅 Just glad he's feeling spritely anyway :D

I think you should start a Atlas blog/diary seeing as he's staying around.....
And he looks great tiny bit of lack of lift in the back legs maybe but that could be the circle/sand.
In all honesty he's done a total 360 fast id probably just not over look him/analysis him give him the week then look he's fit and well right now give yrself some breathing space and allow yourself to settle/relax too.

And then go and drink wine and ride the other pony so to speak 😂😂😂😂
