Gosh I missed all this! 10 days mainly off the forum on holiday and the whole drama passed me by. I was feeling sick as I read each update, until the most recent ones. So goodness knows how you felt. Atlas is a star and I truly hope that he now goes from strength to strength, and this blip ends up just being some weird thing he did once years ago.....

Yeh I’m more than convinced he had an accident in the field and ended up with concussion.
That video is perfectly normal. A young horse with a bit of growing to do.

That was hilarious the first 15 minutes were very impressive lol. He reckoned if there was no tug at the end of the lead rope then whatever he was doing was fair game. The top lip was so far over the bottom, there was lots of noise and neck arching and leaping but all light in the hand. He really does carry himself like a little Spanish thing.
He settled nicely and said hey to his pasture friends and was just so cheerful.
He’s quite a beautiful little thing really even with his big head.

Mine did the same, went to get him in from the field and his head was on the floor, wouldn't/couldnt lift it, was wobbly coming in
Emergency vet out, bloods taken, lots of pain killers given. Took him nearly five days to lift his head to wither height. And I could out a head coller on for three weeks without having the head peice 5 inches back from his ears.
Bloods came back fine apart from low wbc.
We went with concussion. But by the time he could travel for scans he was just about back to normal.
Did it again nearly a year later but not as bad, and had taken down a fence too so we knew what had happened that time.

Still looking great. I am no vet and he will need to pass a load of neuro tests Friday but I do at least know the tell tale signs of a horse with front limb ataxia and I’m seeing none. He’s sure footed, agile and soft.
He is enjoying his walks and is full of life and cheeky glints. He looks so impressive and magnificent at the moment haha! Every time I pat his neck he arches it and flicks it like “yeah yeah I know I’m great”. This is a new thing haha. It’s really quite funny how much he suddenly seems to think of himself- he is getting some quiet but firm correction whilst not squishing him too much and letting him enjoy feeling well.
He is a truly lovely young horse, I am keeping my fingers firmly crossed for two things on Friday- a non neuro horse and a deal to land at work that does my sales quota with 6 months to spare. A group of people are currently sat on the other side of the world deciding my fate on that one. Both would be great please universe
