Just got in from work and ponies and logged on for an update. Even my husband who generally switches off when horses are mentioned is invested in Boggle's recovery. Lots of fantastic news and I think he looks great considering what he has been through.
Michen, you will find coming out of survival mode difficult, take care of yourself, don't push yourself and don't expect to feel normal for a while.

That is very sweet of your husband, sounds like he’s a secret horse lover really ;)

For anyone interested in the thing I love second in the world-this is where I’m meant to be https://www.seacrush.com/en/blog/socorro-bucket-list-divers

It’s a 24 hour water crossing from land which is my slight concern. I spoke to the liveaboard (who just so happen to have another boat leaving the day after) and the only way to disembark early is a private plane and authorization from the Mexican navy.

I know I can’t really do anything for him wherever I am but if he needed to be PTS and I wasn’t there that would be horrific.

Guess that could happen any time though.

But yeh- f*** it. I need a margarita and some tacos 🌮

Pictures of holiday will be great, you need to go so you will be mentally in the right place and rested when he comes home. You will never get the opportunity again (hopefully) when he is is in such a expensive hotel with room service.
(however i'm more interested in the human man ;))

You should so go and dive. He’s in good hands and you need to look after yourself too. I mean you know he’s going to be very demanding once he’s feeling much better!!

Hope you go and have a fab time, Michen. You def need to recover as much as Bog will whilst you’re away and how often can you have the chance of a great holiday whilst leaving your horse in a 5* no expense spared, vets on hand hotel? 😀
We’ll then be able to have holiday pics of both your adventures. So pleased for you both.

Michen holiday looks fantastic . I know every time we travel I make sure the vet and friends has my wishes in the case of PTS . It could happen anytime and you may or may not be able to attend but looking how things are going am sure it is not something you will have to worry about. Bog is on the mend but yes we will not tell him just in case he has other idea's!

I've been lurking, and then missed a chunk as I was on holiday with no signal, but posting to say that a) he is looking fab considering what he has been through, and b) you should definitely go on holiday. My daughter worked for several years in USA vet hospitals and they honestly do care for the horses as if they were their own. I got used to her receiving 3 am calls with updates on patients when I was staying with her, it is true 24/7 care.

Yet again I am going to sound like Granny-Trouper but caring for yourself IS caring for Bog. Both of you need to be fully fit to resume your adventures, so just go while he is getting the best of care at the vets.

Your turn at BogWatch duty will come when he is home again.:):)

wonderful news on the Bogster - now he needs a few days to recover from seeing you in those rather bizarre foot coverings so go and have a great time, come back to bring him home. Dive well.

The cure for anything is saltwater: sweat, tears, or the sea.

weird I thought I’d posted twice but it hadn’t come through.

I am outta here! 😀

Bog doing fine although they noticed some very very mild pulses so they are being extra cautious and ice booting him again.

Cultures came back with nothing ffs, cytology just said inflammation.

I am a bit worried about the feet. Urgh.

Yes, but there is nothing you can practically do that the vets cannot. And they will and are trying to head off anything at all that is incoming. They have it in hand and know how to deal with all of the possible scenarios so you may as well go, enjoy the holiday before you have to return to do the Bog-Convalescence!! The vets have got this and you need and deserve a break. Very, very mild pulses may never be anything than that. IF Bog had a laminitic moment, he is exactly where you would want him to be so you could not materially change things if you hang round lol!! Hope you have a lovely time and get a really decent change of scene. :)

Thanks Palo, I appreciate that ❤️ I know he’s in the best place. And he’s been allowed out of his prison cell now more tests are back so that’s nice for him!

None of us know what is coming along but you have done everything possible for Bog; he has 5* hot and cold running vets so take that whilst you can lol!! He will undoubtedly give you no end of trouble when he is back home so take a break whilst you can. Have a fab time; I think this was a real bucketlist trip so you really, really shouldn't miss it!
