I guess the condition drop was always going to happen. It’s sad to see, when you think what he was a week ago. I’ve never seen his neck like that. But he’s ok, he’s bright if a little tired and fed up, just needs plenty of time and rest. He spiked a tiny fever again but vets said totally to be expected and they are not concerned, bloods are perfect 😊

I feel very odd, from on top of the world this morning to glum and flat. I’m obviously so, so relieved he seems to be out of the woods but I think the reality of what’s happened to him is slightly setting in now.

Even though he seems a little more tired today he did still tow me about and use me as a scratching post 🤣 And it’s the first proper, proper interaction I’ve been able to have with him for nearly a week.

He certainly looks like he's ready to go out and start causing trouble again! Wonderful that you've been able to take him for a womble

I don't insure and I'm comfortable with the knowledge that if it comes to it I will spend all the pennies I have and many that I don't to get one of my animals right. And I figure that a)it's better knowing that in advance than paying for insurance, finding you're not covered and then having to work out how much you can/want to afford, and b)I can always earn more money after abig bill, but I can't get back the insurance premiums if I don't use them or the insurance doesn't cover the issue.

You are rocking that outfit!

Really, he looks fantastic.

When Rigs had a week when we thought he was dying of his impaction, he looked awful afterwards. Boggle does not look awful. No ribs, full quarters. He will soon be back to full bloom. In fact, I would be careful he doesn't put too much back on too soon.

Fabulous news!

I've never seen more joy on anyone's face.

I guess the anticlimax was bound to happen, thinks well look brighter when you have him home.

Those pictures made me cry a bit you both look really happy he definitely looks better in his face if you know what I mean.

Everytime Arabi has been to the vet or had box rest he looks a bit rough he drops weight quick and easily in a stressful situation, honestly it doesn't take long for it to go back on a bit of rest, grass and love he will look like new.

Love those pics 😍 You both look so happy. Considering what he's been through in the last week he doesn't look bad at all. I couldn't be happier for a person and a horse on other side of the world that I've never met 🥹.

Hopefully you can get some proper sleep now and get yourself back on track for his homecoming.

Boggle looks great considering his ordeal!! Good lad. :) But the anticlimax and processing of what you have both been through is a bit grim; totally natural but not great. It will pass and there is a very good chance that Boggle will recover completely. You have done amazingly to keep taking it on so you probably do need a bit of a rest and some decent nutrition now!! You will recover your elan too.

Lovely pictures 😊♥️
I think his lost condition might come back quite quickly 🤞
You must feel weird. You’ll have been functioning on adrenalin and cortisol. I’m guessing you’re feeling much like the feeling after working hard for and sitting eg uni finals. You’ll get back on course alongside Boggle. 😊

Ah thanks guys these posts have cheered me up. I was a little upset looking at him, he looked 48 hours ago like nothing had happened and then he just suddenly didn’t.

I really wish my body would stop waking me up at 3/4am so that I have 4 or 5 hours to wait for the morning update haha.

Such a strange feeling! I got in the car elated to have properly seen him and by the time I got to the store to buy ice cream (taking the nutrition very seriously) it was like the world has ended!

I’m putting down the cigarettes and picking up the apple, though ;)

Fabulous footwear! 😁

He doesn’t look bad at all. I’d expect him to look much poorer after what he’s been through. How long is he staying in for?

I think at least another 5-7 days. They are going to look at his lungs again on Wednesday and I certainly want a very good chunk of time with absolutely no fevers before I consider taking him home. But his beds ready and hopefully hay steamer will be soon!

He'll get his condition back quickly - you should have seen how awful I looked when I had a week of norovirus! Sadly the weight came back on quickly once I could eat again.

And I agree with @Red-1 about the outfit ;)Looks like you've stolen a grandmother's nightie :p

So lovely to see the photos. Thank goodness you acted so quickly when you realised something was amiss, your quick actions gave him the very best chance of getting through this. I'm sure he'll pick up quickly during his covalence.

The deflated feeling is the adrenaline and anxiety you have been feeling for the last week, it’s awful but will pass, just be easy on yourself and, as a doctor once said to me, it doesn’t matter what you’re eating, as long as you are eating.

Eat, drink and sleep will all help you repair

I’m so glad Boggle is feeling better and still looking great
